Question for the electric gurus. How close can a ground rod be to a pond? How deep should the rod go?
Got a feed line that comes up out of the dirt next to a pond (2 hots, 1 neutral, no ground in PVC). A ground rod is set back about 2 feet from the pedestal, pedestal is about 2 feet from water line. Piled up some rocks around the ground rod so it won't get destroyed by mower.
The feeder PVC goes into a box, 2 PVC come out and feed an outbuilding with proper grounding from the ground rod.
I'm thinking it would be ideal to move the ground closer to the pedestal and stump so I don't get it tangled in mower. Or is that a bad idea? Maybe I'll just put a fake dog house over the whole thing.
