Anyone used the in ear electronic ear pro? Something like the sport ears or walkers? I have a on-set of peltors that work well, but looking for something that won't get in the way when shooting rifle.

I have the Howard leight impact sports and they are slim line and only about 40 bucks on Amazon. Great noise cutoff and still great to turn up and pick up little noises in woods. Also has a jack for music if you're so inclined. Just my .02

I use these as well and have had great luck. After about an hour or two of constant wear they can start to get a bit uncomfortable. But that's just my experience.

I have both the Peltors and Howard Leights but both can get in the way of shooting rifles like the OP mentioned. I will say the HL's might be 10% better in that department... And better in every other way too.

They are worth every penny as far as I'm concerned. I got the HLs on a sale a while back, but just couldn't get a good cheek weld with them. With the razor it is a complete non issue, no more ear muff sweat, it is awesome! Also with the model linked above you can connect to your phone, and answer phone calls or listen to music.

Walker Razor XV with Blue Tooth https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GUB2SMU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_zIHRhP5KIwhwf
I recently bought these off of Amazon and love them, super comfortable. On an extended range trip with a buddy recently, at one point I forgot I had them in until they cut out when the guys in the next bay started shooting.
I use the full size Howard Leigh's and the Walker Razor, and I just bought a pair of the Blue Tooth XVs to use when I can't get a good cheek weld. I keep the XVs in my EDC bag. I think I'm going to get an extra pair of those! I love em!

I run the sound gear Silver and have been really impressed with them. I've been running them since last October. The only time I Don't wear them is indoors, just too much echo. I wear them for rifle, pistol, USPSA, and hunting.

Another question - I remember hearing on the old "gun dudes" podcast how they were using insurance to pay for the their high-end hearing protection (sport ear customs) as "hearing aids". Anyone tried to go that route?

Tried that several years ago but you need a prescription from an audiologist type Doctor to make the claim.
I just ordered the Razor from Midway for like 89.00, best price I could find and they were in stock... My lucky day.

Got mine from Midway Friday and used them yesterday shooting skeet. Was worried they might interfere with gun mount but turned out to be a non issue. I guess the technology has advanced over the last 10 years or so because they are entirely different from my Peltor Electronics.
The Walker unit doesn't "clip" like the Peltors and that's a nice thing. They seem to focus on the loudest noise without blocking ALL noise. The actual gunshot is muted by itself but I can still hear the rest of activity around me.
It's easy to get carried away with the volume control so I had to keep that urge in check but overall very nice. The biggest downside I experienced was wind noise and there's no way to control that..... No more sweaty ear cups in the summer but I will revert to them in the winter for the added warmth..
I'm very pleased with them.....

Still waiting on mine. Thanks for the review. Any thoughts on if the amplification would work in a hunting tree stand situation?

That's difficult to say. I wore mine around the yard a little and the added amplification seemed to increase the "background noise" which I guess it should, but the crickets seemed louder than the birds!! That was before I really had any idea of how they adjust so user error could be at fault. Please post your opinion once you have yours and maybe I'll learn more...

Just a heads up - I ordered those for $88 on Amazon, and haven't seen tracking info in over a week. Sent a message to the seller. If I don't hear back soon, I'll cancel.
Just to let you know after I seen that price I looked at the reviews to that seller and they were horrible. Several people said that the seller was a scam and their order never shipped but they took the money.

I waited 2 weeks then emailed seller to cancel the order. 4 days later I got a confirmation from seller that the order was canceled.

I got an email from amazon saying that they won't charge until i get shipping info. Going to cancel the order.

I just do not get people. If you are going to fulfill orders then cancel your account. Idk why amazon just don't kick them off?

Mine came from Midway USA, 89.00 (on sale) and I had them within a week......

My only complaint after wearing them for a while is the wind noise. It seems to be much more than any I've tried in the past. I'm trying to come up with a solution and if/when I do I'll post back....

I have Howard Leigh Impact. Love them while shooting pistol. Hate them for rifle as they are too big. They hit the stock and lift up from my ear.

An extra layer of foam over the microphones helps on windy days. I have two round pieces I got from somewhere. A thin piece of tape holds them on.

I've seen some with plastic wrap taped over the mics too.

I just noticed it this past weekend and my first thought was the little foam covers that used to come on stereo earbuds, but can't seem to find any anywhere. I have some suitable foam in case I need to become "innovative"...
Remember, mine are "in ear" not muff type.....

I used the first set you linked, set up pretty well and definitely a weird sensation while it sets up in your ear. IMHO I don't get the same amount of sound dampening out of the radians as I do from expandable foam plugs.

Tried the decibullz on a set on headphones - mainly for wearing while mowing. They did not last long, and I was never really impressed with them.

I just got a set of Walker Razor Bluetooth as well. Friday was my first range day with them, but I had been wearing them to the gym all week.

I agree with all of the pluses mentioned above, but a couple of cons:
1. They main unit body is very flexible and not very rigid or grippy, so if you have to lay on your back for a bench press or do jumping jacks it's going to bounce around and fall off.
2. When I would hunker down while mounting my carbine stock the main body would often times get caught between the carbine stock and my should and start pushing buttons. Very annoying.

I'll be keeping them though. Overall I like them a lot.

I tried Decibullz. I got one perfect and it worked great. Other side I could never get quite right. Meh.

Interestingly enough - they never did cancel my order. Just got shipping confirmation today. I guess it's a good thing I didn't buy another pair.

I'll try them out, and if I don't like them they'll go back.
