Every manufacturer has a weak spot

i was very impressed with them
I was too - but still not happy that I had to send my brand-damn-new SR1911 back because the slide had a void in it. Ruger's weak spot is Quality Control.

They're cheap. Have you priced mags for an HK P7M8, P7M13 or P7M10 lately?
Ridiculous! I recently came across a stash of M8 and M13 mags I bought years ago. With the current prices, I'm really thinking about selling some or most to help fund a first car for my son.

I hope you have a stash of of M8 and M13 guns that I can buy. I'll even give 50% more than list. ;)

I wish. I still have a couple M8's and a couple M13's that I will be keeping. Sold most a few years ago when prices started to get ridiculous. Sold a nickel M8 and a Nickel M10 more than 5 years ago for around $4500 each. Who knows what they would go for now. Also sold a P7K3 kit with all three caliber conversions. Couldn't justify keeping those guns sitting in the safe not being used. I was lucky years ago when some of the M8 and M13 police trade in guns came around for a reasonable price to be able to pick up a few of each. Most of those are gone now when the prices got around 4 to 5 times what I paid for them. I have a nice trade in M8 and a M13 for shooting and a new in the box M8 and M13 I will hold on to to pass down to one of my kids.

Glock- get rid of those trash plastic sights.
Worst suggestion ever.

Those plastic sights add a dollar or less to the cost of the gun. With all of the sights available and the fact that some people like really junky but expensive sights...I'd prefer to waste a dollar on plastic sights and remove and put on what I want as opposed to paying 20-100 more per gun and still have to replace the sights.

So get rid of the pistol and keep the sights? I don't think they'll work on a 1911 so they are worthless.

They are all black, my eyes aren't what they used to be.
The range master at H20 who is a great pistol shooter just started putting all black sights on his pistols.

If yours has a dovetail, I'd just drift out that front sight and put in a Dawson fiber front sight

It is a dove tail. I'm just not sure what I would like for it. I replaced the crappy sights on my Glock but not sure about the 1911.

Has anyone actually had a problem with the Glock factory plastic sights? I have a 1991 G19 that still has the original sights. It is in rotation with my G43 as a daily carry and has been carried a lot. I have changed sights on Glocks before but never because the original sights wouldn't work.

I guess it would depend on the intended use of that 1911, but with dovetails you can do whatever you want once you decide. Some have staked in front sights and that will really limit you without having it sent off and having the slide cut.

I think @nchiker1 used to kick everybody's butt at H20 (all 100 of us) with a stock Glock running stock Glock sights as I recall before he finally upgraded.

They were stock, but they were the night sights, not the plastic ones. Still running the stock Glock! ;) But I upgraded to Dawson sights-worth every penny.

I like the factory Glock sights, I'm not a huge fan of the typical 3 dot handgun sight system...… But the rear "U" Glock sight = awesome. You see some revolvers with the rear "U" sight and CZ PO7 came with them for a little while.
