On the local news WBTV 3 they ran a story with a doctor attempting to kick off a campaign called "Ask". The idea is for parents to ask if guns are in a house and how are they stored before letting their children go over there to play with their friends.

The story then went on to state that recent figures show that one out of three children live in a household where guns are kept loaded and unsecured. While describing recent events where children managed to get ahold of a gun in the house and an incident occured the images shown were closeups of an AR upper, barrel and flash suppressor and a 30 round magazine.

I guess the AR must be the only gun that people leave laying around loaded and unsecured.

I didn't know it was called a doily, He-Man :p

Not an AR, but mine hasn't ever bit anybody. I guess it's either well trained or just plain lazy....

Get yourself a Glock, you know, something that you can have some pride in and you won't have to hide it in a drawer.

Take the mystery away and you will have kids who understand what a gun will do.

I grew up in a house where guns were the norm. I knew not to mess with them.

When dad decided to have target practice we got to shoot. Put an orange on the target stand. Hit or a miss. Very telling.

Teach kids early.

Of course the story then went on to say that with so many guns just laying around, it's a positive testament that gun owners are teaching gun safety to their kids.

And then a giant monkey flew outta my butt and launched a drone strike on New Jersey.

Man, you guys are brutal. I'm not posting pictures of my drawers. :p

Ok, project Ask2: before letting their children go over here to play with my kids, I'll call up the parents to ask whether they've bothered to teach their children how to respect other people's property and to keep their hands off of things that do not belong to them.

Nah it is just that the AR's are the only ones going around shooting people by themselves.

Nah. It's because the AR is the most evilist-looking, military-like "assault weapon" they can show. It evokes a bad image due to all the political and media propaganda already out there.

Which means it suits their agenda to a tee.

If they wanna play that game, I'll pull a Mom on them.

Mom used to require a note from the parents of the kids my sister and I wanted to go over and play with. So I guess none of those people's kids can come over until they get a note from me or my wife.

Well, if you're going to ask about guns, why not a questionare that includes kitchen knives, chemicals, flammable liquids, power tools (including chain saws), prescription medications, if anyone in the household is on the sexual predator watch list and permission to submit to a criminal and mental health background check.

Personally, if they don't know us and our kids all that well, I'm not sure I want their kids over.

Besides...guns are valuable, and highly pilferable. Why should I advertise them any more than I already do?

I classify this under "none of your business".

Wonder if the parent media companies pay them for every scary gun picture shown, or maybe have a quota for anti-gun stories? Or have them only use approved clip art? Or maybe it's like a play list, they just look to see what crap they haven't spewed in a while and go with that to keep it fresh for the audience at home?

Glad we don't have kids, and a benefit of our crap insurance is now there are no more doctor visits!

Ladders are 10 times more dangerous than guns in the home. When can we release a questionnaire about that?

Need to ask then since the neighbor wife has tits, is she a prostitute then? Ask that doctor how many people he has killed? More doctors kill more than my guns do and there's few doctors. Mind your own business.
