I looked at the picture of that thing and immediately thought of...

I see nothing in my Glocks that would fit in that thing.

This is a variation of the tool originally made by George Wessinger, Chapin, SC, who is now passed away. George as a custom pistol smith who specialized in PPC guns back when PPC was more popular. His design required a separate tool for each gun/diameter extractor rod. They work great, clamping the extractor rod without marring as you might do with pliers. Google "Brownells extractor rod tool" and you will find the current tool. The Ron Power tool is a variation of George's tool, that will work on several different size extractor rods/revolvers depending on size, but with one tool. Being a Ron Power design, I would have no concerns about it work, it will work fine.

Thanks for that @Slabsides52. Yes, I realized I'd need to buy at least two of those "mono size" tools to handle J and then larger framed Smiths. This one-tool-fits-all seemed like a better solution. It's strange that nobody else gave me a serious answer. The others didn't read it? Don't care? Don't own revolvers? Never remove the extractor rod?

It took one of us old farts who still shoot and value revolvers to recognize it........ I don't see many younger folk really into wheel guns.

If not, what do you use?

Plyers on the ones that are already bitched up by plyers (which is like saying I get to use plyers a good bit on used revolvers!)......some oak with a half groove and or leather bits and or rosin and a small clamp on the ones that ain't already bitched up by plyers.

A piece of leather and some small channel locks always worked for me.
