I live in Fuquay. I need a good eye doc, one that shoots pistols or shotguns, or preferably both.

Pistol glasses and shotgun glasses might not be the same prescription, I realize that. But my older glasses are and older prescription, with inserts, and not the best quality. I have some Decot Hy-Wyds, but they are also older prescriptions, or no scripts at all.

The doc doesn't have to be in Fuquay, but within an hour's drive would be preferable.

Kevin O'neal, MD, PhD at Cary Eye Center 919-827-1321, intersection of Tryon and Cary Parkway prescribed my last several sets of progressive lenses and they currently work great for pistol shooting.

I'll offer this disclaimer. I can shoot without glasses as I'm farsighted, 20/15, but now I can run the shot timer, and keep score, without changing lenses.

Once you have your prescription if you want replacement lenses for the Decot's call Wayne Morgan in NY
(Morgan Optical) 800-594-0175 He's a stand up guy that is a shooter as well....

Had an eye doc that was an avid hunter but he never did s#it for me as far as helping me spec shooting glasses. Let us know if you find a shooter eye doc. I'm on my 3rd eye doc in 3 years. My duck hunting eye doc quit cleaning his equipment and he was trying to look at my eyes through an inch of dust. Got a recco to another eye doc and he has gone corporate or something. Not seeing patients anymore. Got another recco on a eye doc who is supposed to be good but I doubt can do anything for me as far as making me a better shooter. I just use single vision for LR shooting thru a scope and for skeet. Progressives for everything else. Would love to have a pair of Decot Hiwyds but last time I priced a pair I could buy another pistol for the $. Cheap azz Zenni frames made in China for me. I highly recommend getting TRIVEX lenses no matter what you end up doing. Only problem with Trivex is most opticians are not able to provide it tinted for sun glasses.

I humbly recommend me wife, Dr. De-Allen, Family Eye Care, 205-A Hillstone Drive, Jamestown, NC 27282-2000, 336-454-5151. She's been helping shooters for a long time. She makes good measurements, using your particular eyesight and your particular pistol (discreetly brought with you). She listens to what you want to achieve. She does what any eye doc ought to be able to do, but she does it well. Same thing for computer users, pilots, and others who have to focus on things that are near, medium and far.

Dr Raynor at Professional Eye care in Benson. Hes a shooter, and he hooked me up.

I just went to Carolina in Holly Springs, told them what I was after. They told me I was a perfect candidate for the multi focal contacts. I've been wearing them for three days, only at 5' is anything in focus & red dots are now a YUGE starburst.
Edit- they tried a weaker Rx and I see distance and a clean red dot.
It seem the machine's at 3 eye Drs I've gone to keep leading them to too strong of an Rx, +1.5 for distance when a +1.0 is crisp.

Dr. Uwe Canting in Cary is great. I have some safety glass tri-focals that he hooked me up with about 3 years back that work great for shooting. Ex Air Force as I recall.

I would get your prescription and send it to Brian with Hunters HD Gold. He makes the best shooting glasses out there. You will not be disappointed!
