Fahrenheit 451, the Ray Bradbury novel was made into a movie in the late 60s or 70s. It wasnt very good.
But, man, what a great story!
Last night I was cruising through the tv guide on the direcTV and saw Fahrenheit 451, dated 2018.

Starring some guy you'll recognize but I dont know his name, as well as Michael B Jordan (from Creed, for example), it was well made and a good take on the book

I saw it on HBO or something, check your local listings.
Was worth the hour and a half

I think it just premiered last night. I thought it was going to be a series not a movie either way I can't wait to watch it.

Never knew about the movie, great book.

Great book. I usually donate books to the library or such when I'm done with them. F451 is one I kept.

F451 is the ONLY book Ive ever read in high school that I wanted to own later.

The original movie was horrible, but it was in the style of movies at that time.

It is sad that our esteemed literature experts in the education system force kids to read such drivel as they do. So much crappy tradition and political indoctrination when they could be reading things that will make them think or have a lasting impression.

I don't think it's that.
But Homer's works dont do a lot for me
Gilgamesh, same. I know that freshmen read the Epic of Gilgamesh this year at our school.
Same for Tequila Mockingbird...wait, sorry, TO KILL A Mockingbird.

Sophomores read NIGHT by Elie Weisel (spelling? sorry). I read it in HS too, but never thought about buying it for myself.

There are many great works, for sure, but the teachers still have to use certain things that align with the course

In 2006, parents of a 10th-grade high school student in Montgomery County, Texas, demanded the book be banned from their daughter's English class reading list.[73] Their daughter was assigned the book during Banned Books Week, but stopped reading several pages in due to the offensive language and description of the burning of the Bible. In addition, the parents protested the violence, portrayal of Christians, and depictions of firemen in the novel.
