Fast fire III protector?

How many of you guys use a protector mount around your fast fire III or romeo. Protects sight from dropping etc? Or do you just mount sight to gun, without sight protector?

Protectors like sumtoy or burris offers like a set of bat wing / ears!

I generally use the snapon cover that came with them, at least until they break.

I've got one on a FF3. Turns a svelte sight into a clunky thing.
But it does offer better protection and battery storage IIRC..
Was thinkin bout takin mine off it..
