What's everyone's favorite deer rifle/gun? I hunt with a rifle and a slug gun because some of our land is in the part of Moore Co that doesn't allow hunting with rifles. I'll start it off.....

Browning Abolt .25-06 Rem w/ Meopta Meostar R1 3-12x56

Savage 220 20ga w/ Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40

No pic right this minute but mine is a Remington 700 in .270 my dad gave my the week of thanksgiving in 1997 as an early Christmas present so I could finish my first deer season with it. Came with a POS tasco scope that literally fell apart from the recoil of the rifle. When I got more serious about hunting a couple years later I bought a Simmons 44 mag scope and put on it and have killed a ton of deer, coyotes and a few other critters with it since.

My little 16" rem 700 in a manners ehs stock. Snagged a free 1-10 twist rem barrel that started at 24 or so inches and was only fired at the factory, then dad gave me a rem 700 action with a sporter barrel on it. Then picked up a manners stock for really cheap with an off brand bottom metal that functions, slapped a leupold 3-9 scope and a 20 moa scope base off of the old website. There is also a timney trigger on it that I am not sure where I got or how much I paid for it. Rifle easily shoots .6" groups with fgmm 175gr smk... I think I have $550 or so in the whole set up. Wish I could remember how that trigger ended up in my parts box. Eventually going to put a quality hunting/lr scope on this rifle and shoot a match with it !

Was a Savage 116, .270 Win, Nikon Buckmasters 4x12x4o scope. Consistently shoots under 1 MOA with just about any off the self ammo from Wally World. When my son reached the age and started hunting on his own, he took it over. Now I shoot a Savage 116, 30-06, Leupold VXII 3x9x40 scope. Not quite the shooter as the .270 Win. Its more in the 1.25 to 1.5 MOA range with most off the shelf ammo. I have found that it likes the Federal Fusion 165gr and shoots under 1 MOA with them. Nothing fancy about them at all, just solid rifles and shooters. Just wish I had more time to hunt!

H&R Handi rifle in .300 blk suppressed for the close work.
If I need to get out there a ways my Rem 700 in .270.
But I kill most of my deer lately with a Rem Genesis .50 ML. ML season coincides with the chase phase of the rut around here and it gets pretty exciting.

The .270 is a deer killing king. I have killed my fair share with mine.

I don't think I have a favorite, there are different tools for different jobs.
I mean this in all sincerity.

My job is to kill deer and bring home meat.
If I have a 300 yard field, then I want my .270 or .308
If I have a 50 yard shot at a feeder then nothing is more enjoyable than hunting with a Marlin in .357
If I can grab and hunt with an all time favorite, the Marlin in .35 Remington, then that is fantastic.

To be truthful my all time favorite way to kill deer is hanging out of a tree with a bow.

I'll add one more to the Remington 700 club. Chambered in .30-06 with a Bushnell 3-9x40. Zeroed at 300 yards, point blank range is anything inside of 350, just point and shoot.

When I've been in shotgun only territory, I use my Remington 870 with a Hastings rifled barrel, also topped with a 3-9x40.

This sounds exactly like my set up. Timney trigger though. X-mark sucks comparatively.

I do not have a picture of my favorite hunting rifle, but my go to rifle is a Savage Model 110E in 7mm Rem. Mag. topped with a Leupold Vari X II 3x9 I purchased this rifle way back in 1985 to hunt Elk in Washington State. I never got around to purchasing any other rifle as this one does the job so very well. I know some will say it's overkill for the small deer we have here in Eastern NC but it's what I have and it works.

I must be the odd ball here.

I love my 458 SOCOM with 325gr Hornady FTX and a cheap Primary Arms scope.
Maximum distance where I hunt is about 100yds and for that it is plenty accurate.
None or very little tracking required.

PSA AR-15 in 6.8 SPC with Steiner 4-16x50 scope. Shot another one yesterday afternoon at about 180 yds, he may have gone 30'. He started to move just as I shot and I missed his heart by a couple inches. No pictures as I just put it up.

Prior to this rifle I only used an old Ruger M77 with tang safety with heavy barrel in .308 and an old Bushnell scope. Shotgun would be my Benelli M1S90.

My favorite rifle got to eat today. I spied this out the kitchen window in a field behind the house. Walked down there real easy and caught her sniffing around in the field

Ideally whatever I have in hand when I take the shot! I've enjoyed shooting them with a Dec 1941 dated M1903 Springfield in 30-06, FAL in .308 , 14.5" AR15s in 5.56mm, Sauer 90 in .270 Win, H&R 340 in .308 (Mauser 98). Still looking to harvest some with my .41 pistols and carbine.

my son's favorite: a 1972 Marlin 336 in .35 Rem. He thinks it's a magic wand on deer, and in his hands, I'd say he's right. He killed 2 with it at PDNWR 2 weeks ago. One required a quick follow-up shot 1.5 seconds later, and since he's been shooting a Henry 22 levergun since he was old enough to hold it, it was like second nature. Both deer were DRT.

My brother just hammered a deer with my 336 35rem. It was his first time with a 35 rem. He shoots deer in the head every time. The 200gr cor-lokt blew the top off the head entered her back exited her stomach and hit the back leg breaking bone and stopped somewhere near china. 35 rem is second to 45-70.
