The Fayetteville, NC gun show is this weekend at the Crown Center complex. With the cancellation of the Asheville gun show, we will be making the journey to Fayettenam with a plethora of milsurps, collectible guns, and all sorts of other stuff.

Who else is going?

Why’d they cancel Asheville?

The state wants to make sure there is no chance of further Legionnaire's outbreak. They have cancelled all activities at the Western NC Agriculture Center until further notice.

Never been to this show. How many tables?

When full, about 500. From what I hear, a bunch of dealers from Asheville have booked last minute at Fayetteville, so maybe it will be full. Impossible to say.

I'm not sure I'd drive from Salisbury unless you are just dying to go to a gun show. It can be a great show, but it can also be hit or miss, like all shows these days.

I seem to remember hearing about a prohibition against hazmat items at the Fayetteville show, is that true?

Last time I was at that hole, which was several years ago, vendors had to keep the powder/primers out in their vehicles.

Fire Marshal requires powder and primers to be kept outside the venue. There is usually one reloading vendor there, but you have to ask for what you want and go out with him to get it.

Thanks. I heard some scuttle-butt that the fire marshal was friends with a local business that sells hazmat items, and that may be the reason. Don't have any idea if that is true or not.

Certainly is not out of the realm of possibility, not around here.
Which is why my next powder purchase will be with a private seller or online.

Well, a prominent area gun dealer got the sheriff to attempt to shut the show down once, so I don’t doubt that story is true, too.

That is certainly true. Same dealer also called the fire marshal. I won’t walk through that dealers doors anymore.
I’m supposed to work all weekend, but if I can get off, I’ll be at the show.

Pretty decent crowd yesterday. Dealer turnout wound up being very good, but over a third of the dealers had been going to Asheville. The show cancellation there was a blessing for C&E.

We will see what today holds.

I went Saturday after lunch, and there was a good sized crowd. Stopped by and spoke to cubrock for a few minutes. Still can’t believe I only spent $20 dollars. Think I looked at everything twice, but only bought a 308 Pmag. Well, I guess I’ll save my money for the Dixie show next month.

I really believe Fayetteville has shot themselves in the foot by not allowing powder sales at the show. That’s one of the main reasons I go. The vendors who sell powder are also the main ones who sell brass and projectiles. Raleigh, here I come....

This same dealer also forced the tax people to go to the show and bust dealers who weren’t charging sales tax. I know this to be true, because a member of my family works for NCDOR.
