Authorities say Carlson committed a burglary on July 13, 2017, during which he attempted to sexually assault a woman while using a weapon.

In September, he was charged with assault with intent to commit rape, assault with a deadly weapon and burglary, and he was arrested by Los Angeles police.

Carlson posted bond and was released"....POSTED BOND??? How in the hell did a judge set a bond on ASSAULT TO COMMIT RAPE. Only in California.

It's not nice to say but the victims in this case have been spared a worse ordeal than the assault by not having to withstand a trial on this.

He would have been given a bond anywhere for this charge. It's not a capitol offense where bond could be Constitutionally denied.

We are the Peak of Good Living! Proud that a bad guy got put down here. Cannot believe one of our talented 300 lb lady officers didn’t do the deed. :p

Good riddance.

To elaborate - I think of the 'affluent' kid who killed someone while driving drunk at 15(?) and was let off, I think he was in Texas, but I might be way off on that

"bail may be denied to a defendant who is (for example) likely to flee the jurisdiction before the case concludes." from NOLO. Most judges have wide discretion in setting or not setting bail just like magistrates have discretion in fining you or throwing you in jail.

Burglary and attempted rape gets you to the top 10? This has got to be the safest it’s even been in America.

capital, not capitol. One refers to an offense which may cause you to forfeit you life, the other is a place.

..... yes, I DO hate myself for being this way. :)

Well, to be fair, the capitol IS a pretty offensive place :)
(lower case "c" because it applies to all of 'em...)
