Been there, done that. 2015ish. 45 minute chat. On the front porch. I asked if they were expecting to come in, they said it was up to me, so I stepped outside and shut the door behind me. Looked like Jehovah's Witnesses, except for their little FBI credentials.

They said they weren't there for anything specific. Just encouraged to engage the public post-911, that I had served my country honorably in the Navy and that I could continue to do so if I heard anything or saw anything.

This is meant to scare/silence the kid. And he handled it perfectly.
