Italian (Chinese šŸ¤£ )made awesomeness (donā€™t hear that much do ya). A couple of my buddies have them, but Iā€™ve been toying with the idea of scope/stock mounting one to a bolt action for coyote hunts.

Anyone here done it? Any universal picatinny or tube mounts that youā€™d suggest? Fenix has a weapon mount but Iā€™m not sure itā€™s robust enough for my liking.

Italian made?
I thought they were made in China

Have several and really like them, but stopped buying when the new models didnt have some of the features I was seeking

From their site (sorry for bold right here, I cant turn it off for some reason)

Production methods make innovation repeatable.

Based in Shenzhen, China, Fenix creates unique lighting products in a company-owned facility under close scrutiny from quality assurance professionals. Unlike contract manufacturers or subcontractors, Fenix owns the performance of each and every light. From owners to employees, the talented team is out to replicate the craftsmenā€™s eye for function, fit and finish. Those high standards flow from design to production to quality assurance.

Any you confusing the Fenix that makes interior furnishings materials with the Chinese light manufacturer?

Shenzhen is a major mfg hub in China, tons of low cost goods come from there. But Fenix owning the facility is very different than what Iā€™ve heard of in my limited experience dealing with Chinese mfgā€™s.

That said, I have some Fenix lights and have no complaints.

Yā€™all are going to make me go back through 2 days of browser history to find that one obscure ā€œmade in Italyā€ reference that stuck with meā€¦..

ā€¦.but that would be pointless lol

Soooo, who makes a 3000+ lumen, weapon mountable light that uses at least 5000mwh batteries, in a non communist country of origin.

I've got one or two kicking around. I can't complain about them.

3,000+ lumens??! Is that Chinese lumens or true lumens? Lumens ratings on flashlights are like wattage ratings on car audio products , donā€™t believe any of them and, with few exceptions, you generally cut them in half to get the real number.

I have some lights rated 1,000-2,000+ lumens and theyā€™re too bright for indoor use unless Iā€™m just trying to blind someone and am wearing sunglasses myself. If weā€™re talking about lighting up a football field with something that fits in your pocket, OK then.

no one.

2 or 3 football fields actually. One of my buddies has a tk75 thatā€™s claimed 5100 lumens, at it will absolutely reach 240 yards across his field plus another 30 yards to the woods across the street and light up the trees like daytime. Itā€™s pretty big and heavy to weapon mount, although Iā€™d probably try it were it not discontinued. Itā€™s so bright that I felt I could get by with 3/5 of that output and still be happy as a clam.

And who knew the lighting world was such a rabbit hole. So many options, itā€™s actually annoying trying to make a choice.

So Iā€™m kind of a nerd for lights and have quite a few of them. Fenix lights are nice for what they are and I have a couple of them. (Theyā€™re definitely Chinese not Italian thoughā€¦.)

Some random thoughts I have on lights in general and in no specific order:

Donā€™t get wrapped up on ā€œlumensā€, especially from Chinese brand lights, sure theyā€™re bright AF, but there is a whole lot more that goes into light tech and projecting that beam than just ridiculous high lumens.

You need to decide what is more important to you for your use, Throw or spill and go from there.

And Iā€™ll say it again. literally every single time a thread on lights comes upā€¦ā€¦ā€¦..There is NO SUCH THING AS TOO BRIGHT for indoors. If you are blinding yourself with a light then your tactics suck and you need some training. Period.

If youā€™re looking to use a light for duty/HD/serious use this is my ranking:

Modlite/Cloud Defensive
SureFire
Streamlight
Olight/Fenix
Anything else

I have been really impressed with my Fenix lights as well. I agree - much better designs than Olight. I once accidentally dropped a Fenix light in a gravel parking lot, backed over it with my truck, and came back to find it several days later after a couple hard rains to find it working perfectly. Still keep that one in the nightstand. My favorite lights in terms of design, value, and performance are still Streamlight though.

I bought a fourth Fenix light last month. PD35R which is rechargable. Love every light I bought. They are very tough and are a great value. I have two headlamps and two PD35 models which can be clipped to a hat or weapon mounted. Buy it.

I own a lot of flashlights including several Fenix torches....they are very well make flashlights., Likely the best of the Chinese flashlight companies IMO. I do like Thrunite, Convoy, Nicron and Lumintop also when it comes to inexpensive EDC torches.

Ive got one or two fenix lights. Good lights but I wouldnt bet my life on them. Surefire is my go to light brand and what I take into the deep woods. 3000 lumens is a tall order. Lots of heat to disipate and lots of battery that will drain down fast. My experience with 1000 lumen lights is most will get really hot and then throttle down from the heat and voltage drop. Never had anything over 1200 lumens. Nightforce parent company made/makes high power hunting lights but I have no experience with them. Good luck.

This is basically my experience. Iā€™m not gonna throw out my Fenix but Iā€™m not gonna buy another either.

I use SF M951s on the rifles. It works for my needs. I 'think' I had a Fenix at one point and traded it, but cannot recall. I also use Streamlight and Inforce.

Hard agree with esteemed colleague @Derek8404 , there's a lot of other factors to consider aside from lumens and candlepower. Get what you need, not what Delta-SEALs use.

I have used Fenix for my work for the last 2 years. I didn't think anything would make me retire the Streamlight LED Stinger, but I did. I started with the PD35, the only gripe I had was the button was too easy to hit by mistake and turn on the strobe when I was crawling around in a dark crawl space. When I lost that one I upgraded to the PD40R. Great light, but I almost never use the highest 3,000 lumen setting. It's bright enough without it and can get hot enough to melt plastic if you leave the light on too long. I have another guy who works with me and he uses the Fenix too. In 2 years of basically industrial duty use neither of us has had a failure of any kind, so, yeah, I would trust my life to it.
I do still keep the Streamlight in the back seat for emergency use, but the only time I have used it was when I lost the PD35.

LOL! from the Fenix website, cheap Chinese knock offs of a Chinese product...

I have a few fenix lights and have had no issues other than misplacing them. Had a rechargeable 35 I used at work....dropped it into the fuel tank of my truck with it on...pulled it out and had zero issues.
