Probably the most requested silencer in the last several years...

https://yhm.net/the-resonator-k-30-cal.html

5.65” w/ QD mount

Street price ought to be <$500 ($440 at whatever SS Dealer popped up when I logged in)

That’s odd, the 300BLK is 5db louder than a 308??
308 Win- 137 dB / 145 dB (Ear / Muzzle)
.300 BLk- 142 dB / 147 dB (Ear / Muzzle)

I noticed the same, their dB ratings raise some questions without listing the firearm used. For example the Turbo K rates at 138 for 5.56 but the Res K is 150 for 5.56. The Res K will of course be louder due to the larger bore but that seems like a big jump to me<—- not a suppressor expert by any means.

Regardless, I am very excited to see this release!!! I was hoping for a 30cal version with specs very close to the Trubo K and they did exactly that. I will be buying both the turbo K and Res K cans.

yhm wants all your money, and they'll do what it takes to get it.
i have the original phantom 5.56 and mounts on a couple of rifles. it's nice, but the newer versions are nicer.
The mount is great.

What's the big deal? Not sure what I am missing?
To add on to what @JRHorne said, size and simplicity of their line up. YHM has always been pretty basic in their product offerings. The current rifle suppressor line up is perfectly simple IMO. Full size 7” and K 5.5” cans, made of 17-4 and iconel, with “industry standard” bases so you can use your preferred mounting system though their mounts are also good.

The only things that would take them to the next level would be 1)a single modular can so you could decide to run it in K or full length mode and 2)a more aggressive warranty allowing for shorter barrel use. Both of these come with added cost though, so I like what they’ve chosen to do. Aside from their cans, I’m not a YHM fan either.

Price, performance, and modularity. So yes, you're missing it all.

Ok. It's an inexpensive .30cal can made of quality material. Check. Is it a particularly quiet can too?

What's it compare to?

For its size, yes it performs quite well. Below is a screenshot from a Suppressed Nation/Hansohn Bros video. There are other reviews that also conclude that the turbo performs above its pay grade while being so small. Check some of them out tho, these little guys aren’t for everyone but very popular for a reason IMO.

Sandman and Vox are 30cal, Explorr is 1/2” longer; 10.5” 5,56 AR.

And big, didn't mean to come off snarky. But this can is crazy considering my Chimera was double the cost for marginally better performance, at the expense of a lot more weight and length.

Chimera does give you no barrel restrictions, which is important to some people.

But yeah this looks like a good setup

Agreed but I doubt I ever tax it enough to where that's even a remote concern. I got mine during the promo so I did get a good deal.

Even worse, it's been out of jail like 6 months and I haven't shot it...

Two more new YHM cans coming later this year.

I think they’re gonna sell a ton of these:

https://yhm.net/r9-9mm.html

And some, but not near as many, of these:

https://yhm.net/nitror-n20.html
Now that R9 is pretty dang sexy! A cheap 9K competitor.

Omega 9K
4.7” len.
7.2oz
1.48” dia.
Rated for 300BLK super
Octane/ASR base threads
17-4 SS & Stellite
6 baffles
9mm 131.5dB
SiShop $689

YHM R9
5.2” len.
10.7oz
1.562” dia.
Rated up to 9mm, designed for up to .308 (???)
Universal 1.375x24 base threads
17-4 SS
8 baffles
9mm 125dB, 10.5” bbl
Msrp $450

That’s a big weight difference and the rating conflicts with their description, but if this is in fact OK with 300BLK supers this may be making it on my list as well. Save ~$300 for a +3.5oz & +1/2” penalty but pick up universals base threads and supposed much better suppression.

It says:

The primary goal was a 9mm suppressor capable of handling high volumes of fire and the ability to run other calibers such as .300 BLK and .308 Win. It was primarily focused on suppressing 9mm (specifically sub-machine guns and SBRs).

And

  • R9™ SOUND LEVELS:
  • 9mm: 125 dB on 10.5" Barrel
  • 9mm: 123 dB on 4.25" Barrel
  • .308 Win.: 142 dB on 20" Barrel

I don’t think there’s a conflict between the ratings and description. I think the rating of 17HMR-9mm is based on bullet diameter.

I agree that’s probably what they meant but I don’t think it reads that way. Generally, saying “Rating: 17HMR - 9mm” would not include 30cal rifle rounds.
I’m going to shoot them an email or ask in their industry section about min barrel lengths and RoF limits for .300BLK super, .308Win, and .223(just because) since I couldn’t find it mentioned on the site for this one.

Somebody on ARF posted the MAP on the R9 is $324. If that’s true, they better ramp up production for the first batch. ;)

A couple details on the R9...both posted by YHM rep on AR15 today:

1. Silencerco Hybrid booster housings fit this suppressor and the one we'll be offering accepts their pistons as well.

2. We have all of the blast chamber's complete and are just awaiting baffles to come into stock for assembly and weld. Long as there's no more pandemics we should be on schedule for late July early August.

When do you think we will see R9’s in stock?
If they’re actually boxed up and ready to go, it probably won’t be but a couple weeks. Might even see places like SS selling them with only the serial numbers in hand.

I’m on the waitlist for Hansohn... will prob snag one if I get the email in time.
He posted this morning all he was waiting on was F3 approval and shipping. Then posted this ~3p:

Form 3 has been approved. Now we wait for the big brown truck to pick them up. As soon as that happens, I'll hit the go button.

looks like my “couple weeks” estimate wasn’t too far off... :D (which is good news, considering YHM closed up for about a week due to storm damage and power issues)

So this week some time?
