Finished a couple more knives

Is that 4140 shipped?
Sorry, that's the kind of steel, 4140 tool steel, 5160 spring steel (what MOST leaf springs are made from).

I work part time in a machine shop and can sometimes get steel cut-offs/throw aways for scrap prices. 4140 is one of those pieces.

Nice looking work, wish I had that sort of skill

I was just having fun with you. I'm a machinist. Although over the years, I've become more of a mechanic. :(

Crap, you got me.
I'm not a machinist, yet, more of an amateur that fools around on a mill and likes making stuff out of steel. Machining seems to dovetail well with my blacksmith/gun hobby, so I am learning part time.

It's a useful skill, that's for certain.

In my coming up days, I was accused of making an entire motorcycle on the company equipment. That was an exaggeration. Lol.

Do you heat treat them? They look great. You should start putting some up for sale

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I have sold a couple here, but I'm not a vendor or sponsor or anything, so I didn't know if I should do too much of it.

Awesome answer.

Very nice. I have a penchant for edged weapons and have always wanted to make a knife. Glad you are doing it.
