Firepit 2018-19

Wish I had taken a pic of mine. It was blazing earlier, everyone is gone and fire is going out now.

I plan to pick up sticks from the yard and maybe make a fire tomorrow evening. Had a hitch in my giddyup today...

Hopefully I can contribute to this next weekend. The suburb firepit just seems lame after building fires in the mountains. Hope to be in W. Jeff Friday. Will try to make a decent showing. Gotta use the new wood splitter anyway.

Aah, Stella. The Budweiser of France. Lol.

I know it says Belgium on the label, but when I was in Calais, France, I tried Stella for the first time. When I got back to the factory, I told my French colleagues about finally trying it. After laughing at me, the engineering manager said, "Stella is the Budweiser of France." Lol.

draco88, that is a bonfire
For about 4 minutes lol....buncha downed branches from windstorms. It flares up quick and dies back just as quick. Good for quick coals. I throw my split wood in there when it dies back a bit. Easy starter lol.

I had to sit out there yesterday for the kids soccer game. Thought I was good with my insulated jeans and arctic carhart, still got cold.

The wind up here sucks the big one.

Yeah wind is always a deal killer. Not much fun sitting by a huge fire when the wind shifts and blows hot coals in your face. I can deal with bitter cold if it's calm.

I camped up at MEDOC State Park Friday night before my trail race... This is a picture of my hotdog cooking for on its way down...

Hmmm, broke the handle off my fire pit. It’s exactly like the one in the post above. Anyone near Waxhaw got a welder and know how to use it?

Dang Jim, I put sticks too tough to break by hand through mine and use the handle for leverage to break them. What happened?

Same, but my welds aren’t as robust as yours, handles were just tacked on, there was quite a bit of rust between the handle and pot.

I guess I'll need to examine mine a bit closer.
My oldest granddaughter, cooking a marshmallow I think. She ended up staying outside as long as I did, only calling it with my agreement.
Blessed evening for me, as most weekends they go to their other grandparents house. Got to spend some quality time with the older girls.
