I have been reloading for over 1/2 my life and never done this before and hope to never do it again.

Dropped a whole sleeve of primers on the floor. Out of the 100 I could only find 98 of them.

Reading the title, I was thinking this post was about SEX.

Welcome to the club. IF one has not done it yet, one will.

Since this is a free flowing thread, it will be hijacked a little more.

For the paltry sum of $340, you can get TWO brass magnets....no girls to set up or whatever. That gives you 200 SQ FT of coverage.

We go to the farm and use 2 10 x 12 polys sort of overlapping. We so the 12 foot length extends to our right. We use a Black and Decker Workmate for a bench if needed or just to put ammo and cases and tools. Throw on a beat up towel and you can disassemble with some protection. We have 240 SQ FT of area. My buddy and I brainstormed this morning. Here is our plan.

Harbor Freight sells (I have one unopened) their cheap blue poly in a 19 X 29 size for $30. We were using two of their nicer 12 X 10 that are the silver reflective. But we will use what we got and star using the 19 x 29. That effectively extends the catch zone by almost 2.5x . WOW. We can fold it back if needed.

So, we will now have 30 feet of length to catch. The 20 width is OK as that worked when we overlapped the two 10 X 12. We now have almost 600 SQ FT

IF you want to go first class, but will be bulkier folded up, then buy the HF 19 x 29 in silver for $60.

Now....find some half bricks or pavers. I have a bunch. Get two 5 gal buckets and drill a few holes int the bottom. We figure we will need 24 to anchor the perimeter every 5 ft....so if we space it out, then 18 or so should work. Softball sized rocks also work. We will leave the bricks in the buckets at the farm and tote the tarp. The metal scavengers ain’t gonna steal bricks.

My hat is off to the Brass Magnet link. I was gonna get a 15 ft x 2” strip of Velcro on Amazon and overlap the two existing 10 x 12. If the new blue tears up, that is our backup. We should never lose brass.

Just passing this on.

I have a few guns that really spit the brass a long ways, so I made a catch net out of PVC pipe and “cargo net” that my wife found at the fabric store. I did not glue all the joints, and ran bungee cord inside the pipe, so it goes up quick and breaks down small. It works fairly well at the range to keep brass from hitting the guy in the next lane.
