Packing up today for a ferry ride to Cape Lookout at 9am tomorrow. I hope to have some photos to add over the coming days.
Good luck mr17s with the rattle are producing trout in the surf. They wanted the rattle over the ones that didnt have it yet nearly identical coloration

I need to get back out to Lookout.
I used to take the truck, wife and kids and stay three or four days until the wife said no more.
But the kids are grown now and the wife had probably rather stay in a motel somewhere while I go to Lookout to fish.
Are there still pheasant out there?

I haven’t seen any pheasant in 2 years. They may still be here but I normally travel the beach and I only saw them on the back roads before.

Ran down to Vandemere with the jon on Tue looking trout and ended up with 25-30 fish in the 13-22" range and lost 3 bigger ones at the boat. Kept four for dinners with a 19" average. They were a blast on ultralight tackle. For those with kayaks, it looked like a decent spot to fish on good days as a mile paddle will access nice creeks. The new NCWRC ramp is nice as well.

New Bern was on fire for the Thanksgiving and first week of December. Caught over 100 trout, 15 drum, and a 24" rock one day. I don't expect to ever repeat that though. It was amazing cast after cast, fish after fish and nearly all keepers up to 22". The last two weeks have been pretty slow with the cold setting in. I was skunked last Sunday and scratched out a limit today on dumb luck. It was dang cold. The fish are moving out of the creek mouths and up the creeks now for sure with water temps around 46-47. The freezer is getting fuller for the upcoming year.

I have no affiliation but if you are down in Morehead city and need some tackle check out Sportsman's Wholesale (on HWY 24 behind Walmart basically). I dropped in for look around 2 weeks back and their prices on tackle are dang good and they have a lot of fishing gear on discount. They also had 10' stick-it-pins for $65 vis $100 elsewhere. I spent my shooting allowance there.

Took a bit today to go next door and fish for a bit. Biggest fish of 2019. That’s a size 13 boot next to it for reference. I gotta get me a working scale. Caught in knee deep water with a chatterbait

Just waiting on it to warm up a little. Trying to figure out what to do with all the stuff I scored at gander mtn! Maybe I can get the boat cleaned up this weekend!

Mooresville. I picked up all they had. Found them stuffed in a box with camping stuff. Also found 2 glock mags for my CMMG in the same box!

Furthermore. I haven't caught anything except a bad attitude since late December and I have TRIED. I dig the "Sons of Anarchy" motif you have going on. I really do. But, can you please pretend to look slightly pleased the next time you take a picture with a bass?

Kidding aside. Envious dude.

Well done.
