I have caught the PS90 bug again and have found myself searching gunbroker for one. Question to the forum: who has or had one and what is your opinion of it? Does it just look cool or is it a capable firearm? Specifically interested in accuracy, trigger pull and reliability.
thanks.

Trigger is pretty bad IMHO. Only reliability issues I’ve had with mine have been AE ammo. FN ammo has been flawless.

But if you get one, you gotta SBR it. It’s the law. 😁

Had one, dang glad I sold it when I did. Bulky, trigger sucked, etc. Also had an AR57 upper. It was a lot better and it sent the brass through the mag well to the ground. Easy to pick up.

But the best thing about the PS90 is it made it a rational decision to buy/build the AR57. After all, I already had the mags!

If it wasn't for the ammo being stupidly expensive I'd love an AR57. I dig weird stuff like that.

Absolutely required for Stargate LARPing
I actually used to help run/write plot for an airsoft milsim LARP based loosely on Stargate where military personnel, spooks and corporate sorts would explore dead worlds via Stargate to loot tech. The world's were dead so we didn't have to provide NPCs for them to shoot at, the first mission saw every player infected with nanotech that nudged them into furthering the goals of intelligences thousands of years dead (we gave them note cards with what the voices in their head demanded and most played along).

We actually had a three man team from an undisclosed agency who were wearing modified SG1 rigs and carried Marui P90s. We didn't know that they actually were intending to stop further use of the gates to protect Earth.

During one mission those three guys hunted and "killed" everyone else on site and set off a GM approved backpack nuke (100lbs of dive weights and some beep boop electronics for flash) to prevent anyone else finding out how to make their own stargates because proliferation is bad.

Absolute madmen.

They feel a little in the hand BUT they (next to an AUG) are probably the most ergonomic rifle I have ever fired. They just nestle right up in to your shoulder and feel like god intended for it to be there. You want a bulky rifle get you a FS2000.

The trigger is garbage, like I said it reminds me of a NERF gun. There may be some after market parts to address that now, haven't looked into accessories in years.
One good thing about them is they hold their value well, especially if you can find an early model. Don't be afraid of the white ring/ghost sights on the early guns if you find one equipped with them. The REM T3 is an easy add on and works wonderfully.

At the end of the day they are just a fun plinker, I've run a few playing around but never bothered to test accuracy.

I hate they stopped making the AR57 uppers, would love to have one in a pistol format.

thanks for your opinion. I agree an AR57 pistol upper would be nice. 50 round mags with AR ergonomics and a host of options would be sweet.

I carry mine in my truck a lot of times. Covered (at least currently) by my CHP. With three other mags that’s 201 blue-tipped rounds of goodness.

Even more fun when I put a 40rd PMag with all the guts removed in the magwell…the ultimate drive-by weapon. 51 rounds fired with no brass on the ground. 😎

As a collector, I'm happy to own a PS90. It's interesting and fun to shoot.

But as a semi-only carbine - it's kinda' underwhelming for me for anything but plinking........expensive plinking.

I’d love to find one. I’m still kicking myself for not getting that one you linked on arfcom

When I moved to a state where I could SBR it, I had the hard choice to do that or sell it. In the end I sold it because the ammo even before Biden was stupid expensive for the amount of enjoyment I got out of it and reloading it wasn't worth it. Unlike the other guy I never had any problems with american eagle ammo going through it reliably. I still have a lot of it with the thought that maybe I'll get another 5.7 one day. So far nothing has peaked my interest in that caliber.

I like the Keltec P50 and the carbine kit that will be available. Stock and a 16" barrel are in the kit

I think everyone pretty much covered it.

Ergonomic, compact, handy, don't remember any malfuctions , etc...

Trigger sucks
Ammo was expensive and not always available.
Magazines were expensive.
And the price of the P90 has went up considerably in recent years. I think....... not too long ago they were under 1k, now they are over 1400 last I looked.

Edit..... I just looked, they are now about 1700 new... whoa

Yeah, I paid just under $1K delivered for mine (off GunBroker IIRC) in ‘14.

Had never actually seen one in person, and filed the Form 1 before I had it in my hand. 😁

$64 for 50 roundsFN brand
$50 for 50 rounds American eagle brand

This was at the Hickory gun show today ☹️

The question isn't "are they worth it" Its "how much do you want one"

I wanted one for years, probably my all time favorite gun in video games and media. I've got an CMMG barrel on order and will be filing a form 1 at some point soon.

This article may be of interest on reloading 5.7.

gun show ammo prices are always strange. "i know what i got" trumps identical and for sale at the local store. My local store had FN for $46 the other day.

If you like crisp triggers, in general you should probably avoid bullpups. Because the action is behind the trigger on a bullpup, the trigger bar is necessarily VERY long -- typically resulting in a heavy, mushy trigger pull.

The PS90 trigger ... sucks. I say that as someone who owns a number of bullpups (all of whose triggers ... suck). Crappy triggers just go with the territory...

On the ammo, word is several Nato Allys recently adopted the 5.7 for pdw guns. And there are a couple more factories going to be making ammo. So supposedly ammo will be more avaialable and affordable in the next year or two...

On the gun.

The p90 is a classic. I love it but can't justify the money.... there are .22 chassis you can get.... if you want one though get one! This is 🇺🇸

If your looking for a pdw in 5.7, there are more compact options with better triggers....

The dbx, the new cmmg dissent.... pick your poison...

Definitely not the best choice for anything. I am interested in the cool factor, which it definitely has.
