My cousin is concidering going to work for this outfit, but needs some background information if possible.
I have never heard of them until now, but I went to their site and watched the intro video. It looks pretty cool.
It folds at the upper/barrel junction.

Defintley makes the AR more compact for storage and transport.
I guess as long as it is rugged and durable over the years, it should be good to go.
Anyone with experience or thoughts on the matter?

Did Pipboy get into an argument with them?

I really don’t remember what the deal was. I remember they had some QC/machining issues early on but cannot remember if that was the reason for the ban.

I always liked the concept of it, just not a huge fan of proprietary stuff.

The big drawback I see is that it is not ready to fire from concealment. It has to be "unfolded"...

My shorty AR pistol is a tad bit longer, but it is ready to fire from concealment.
( or fire through its carry case if needed )

For reference,
The concealed MP5 "briefcase" gun might be the ultimate RTG concealed carry rifle.

And a 17” laptop case with a 7-8” AR can do just that with a short buffer assembly, just sits diagonally.

I’d hope for your cousin’s sake that the company also does less niche fabrication work.

This forum is packed with AR accessory lovers and that folding setup is an oddity here. Doesn’t seem like a healthy business model.
Very true. Law Folders and their knock off (I forget the name) are like 100-$300 and they're pretty rare. I can't imagine demand for $2k+ to be very high

OP, in what capacity is your cousin coming on for the company?

Yup...

My 8" AR rides in a soft laptop case exactly as you described. Unzip the zipper about 3 inches and I can get my hand in and on the trigger without taking the gun out.

She is a programmer and will be implementing some software for them. Not sure on all the details. She's a country girl that likes to shoot and hunt. She wasn't familiar with the company and asked if I could locate any details before she started...

Very nice. My only piece of advice is for her to ask (pretty heavily) on the outlook of 2024 and beyond. Programmers/backend people are the first to get cut to save $$$#. Getting turned and burned as soon as a project is completed is also common, but she's probably well aware.
