Anybody here a member? I know of one, but he said he didn’t know of any others.

I don't see any pricing on their website how high are they??

I’m a member there. Its been 250 per year the past 3 or 4 years since I’ve joined.

Haven’t been much lately but it’s not far from me and I’m able to go during the week so I never wait on a bay.

Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever waited for a spot to shoot on a weekend either.

That seems pretty reasonable compared to some of the indoor ranges around my area.

Way reasonable. It used to be 125 I think but I’m totally ok with 250 because I like not shooting at paper in a room with people I don’t know right next to me.

I’m supposed to be going on Tuesday (9/24) with another CFF member. I wasn’t going to ask him to host anybody else, but figured if there were other members nothing would stop you from coming.

Already had another person send me a PM and he might join us. If you’re free, come hang out and shoot. Current plan is to get started around 2p. My main goal is to test fire five of my new F1 silencers and compare them to some commercial cans. Always good to have another set of ears to give an opinion.

I was a member and let it lapse. I am considering joining again, as it is the closest outdoor facility to my house. According to a news letter article annual associate member dues is $250. I believe it is less for active and retired LE, but I am not sure.

I am a member but have not been lately due to health reasons.
I will keep my membership for now as it is close and I can take my wife and some friends for free.
Also it is clean, well maintained and has a 100yd rifle range.

Prepping has begun.

<48 hours until the first shot is fired. Any other FOP members going to join us?

24 hours from now several of us will be sending lead downrange.

Any other members available to meet us?

Not only did we have a good time shooting today, @LeeMajors and I got to be entertained by some officers (most, maybe all, of the marked cars were Huntersville) run through qualification drills.

Not a one I saw would’ve killed the Wizard, and they weren’t even starting from concealed.

Two shots in two seconds...took 5-6 seconds for most. Dropped mags all over the place. Some taking 2x-3x longer than others for the same amount of shots.

Good times! :D

used to be till they turned against the competition shooters
Yep—we used to run a pretty fun 3 gun there years back. The old Fudds got upset and sent the monthly match with 30+ shooters packing. Not cool.

Out of curiosity, does that Fudd mentality extend to steel case ammo?

Do they require you show a pistol permit for entry? Just asking for a friend :D
I was actually hoping they asked me for any of my NFA paperwork. I think I had 19 stamped firearms laid out. And there’s a sign at the range that says No Class 3 Weapons, but Patrick said that really just meant no full auto.

I'm pretty sure I saw steel cases on the ground
I'm thinking about joining the FOP, but I don't want to pay to be a member at a range where they only allow God fearing American brass cased ammo and get on you for pulling the trigger more than once every five seconds.

I'm pretty sure I heard the afore mentioned members rapid fire said weapons. With the class of hilarity present

I was under the impression that the process was you had to have a member vouch for you to become a member? Or if you just join the FOP and then you can use the range?

You can shoot steel/aluminum case no problem. Range rules state you pick up all spent cases before you leave. Not everyone does but I try to leave with all of mine.

No rules against rapid fire. Standard “don’t be a dumbass” rules apply.

They only things I’ve seen them get huffy about were people shooting “non approved” targets. Need to shoot paper or steel. No old trash or junk, which is not an unrealistic rule.

When I joined the process was to fill out your application, show up to a meeting on the first Tuesday of the month, and get a membership.

They ask that you stand and introduce yourself (testify haha). No big deal at all.

I would email whoever the contact is on the website for current method of application in case it has changed.

There was a posted rule about absolutely no shooting at targets close than 30 yards...or maybe it was 35? They have markers on the ground at something like 30/50/75/100?

Rifle range is no closer than 30 yards for paper, steel must be at 100.

Pistol bays steel must be 10 yards minimum. No minimum for paper.
