For those who eat out a lot

We so very rarely eat away from home, this is question.

Personally (if they survive), I would prefer a glass of fine Pinot Noir and Escargot at Jimmy V's. I have yet to prepare decent escargot from available sources.

Perhaps we will go to Doherty's Pub for some Fish 'n' Chips and a Smithwick's (Smidic's).

They have the best fish and chips I’ve ever had anywhere, bar none.

(OP, forgive minor detour...) We've been researching and visiting thoroughly lately since taking a northern orange Co. house very seriously....from what I gather, the 'box stores' are technically in Hillsborough, though not too far from what is the historic Mebane downtown. Unless there is a more modern Mebane downT we have yet to go to--which could definitely be case. Plenty of towns have a historic/mom-pop area and a second more typical commercial area.

Most of the commercial crap- Lowe's, WM, chain restaurants & the like in Mebane is pretty much limited to the area around the NC119 & Mebane Oaks Road exits.

It will hopefully be Shirley's in Leland for pork chops or Swain's on Oak Island for cracked conch.

Ya know what's surprisingly good and easy is the escargot trays that Lidl sells occasionally in the frozen food section. Like a dozen in the shell filled with butter and parsley for like $3... Just toss the in the oven/toaster oven for 10mins to warm and bang... Snails...

Thanks, @bigfelipe we don't have Lidl here yet. I will keep my eyes open.

Sakura Hibachi and Sushi in Moyock NC its a all you can eat Japanese steakhouse and sushi. Lunch is $12.95 and you just keep reordering anything on the menu until you are full. Unlike most buffets they only make it as you order it. It seems like all the Chinese places near me are closed until all this is over No take out or anything

Rucker Johns, just South of Wilmington in Monkey Junction.
Front Street Brewery, downtown Wilmington.
Or, I'll see SDiver2006 @ Cork & Fork

Swain's on Oak Island for cracked conch.

Conch??? Being a FL girl, I crave conch in this part of the world. Conch fritters, conch salad(ceviche) are high on my list of Nirvana in the seafood world.

We spent a couple of weeks on Oak Island and did not learn of this.

The Provision Company in Southport and in Holden Beach has conch fritters. Swains was not real obvious and has now moved to a new location. I like conch a lot.

Lidl made the mistake of opening a store near an Aldi's and across the highway from the Super Duper Walmart in Rockingham. I loved that place.

I don't think they lasted two years.

O'Charley's..? Really? That's the best you got? Didn't even know any of them were still open...

First will probably be Vinnie's for a good steak since they're closed completely during this mess. Then J.Betski's and Five Star downtown... Then some misc joints for pizza and wings and burgers and such... Locked & Loaded, Ruckus, Cloos' Coney Island... I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

Edit: oh yeah, some BBQ somewhere with @fieldgrade if he survives this...
