For those who take offense at calling unbelief "irrational"

How can I be a troll when the entire thread is targeted at "unbelievers"? I should be the only one involved.

Instead it became a gang bang.

You are in the Chapel section of the forum. You intentionally came into a faith based sub-forum. You are a troll because you have given up any form of actual debate and further replaced it with snark, condescension, and pigeon like strutting. Besides that, only people who lose a debate ever call it a "gang bang".

Now, if anyone wants to get back to a reasonable debate I believe we should do so.

Fourteen pages of responses and VERY FEW attempts to actually interact with the subject matter.
Admittedly, the village idiot has interrupted any attempt at meaningful dialogue with his shrieking yawps, but even then, it would be nice to have someone other than @noway2 actually interact with the original challenge. (he has been the only person so far to actually address the issue from a skeptic pov.... thanks and kudos to him)

The point is that it is NOT LOGICAL to assume that LOGIC can arise from chance and chaos. Logically, order proceeds from order and design. We even have a "scientific law" for this, called the second law of thermodynamics. Simply stated, it says that in a closed system (a material universe), things never go from a state of LESS ORDER to MORE ORDER, but rather from a state of low entropy(more order) to higher entropy (higher disorder). The entire RELIGION of materialism expects me to believe that chaos, unfocused dead matter and swirling cosmic dust somehow arranged itself (over billions and billions of years, of course!!!) into a complex set of interacting bodily systems controlled by a neural system which MATCHES PERFECTLY the true nature of the cosmos.

Is this logical, or a belief that makes a witch doctor look like a hard nosed scientist, dedicated to empirical proof?

That was the original post
Believing that the world we know just appeared from some random kaboom is much more rediculous than believing it was created intentionally by a superior power but defining that superior power is more difficult than creating the definition of the science behind a random kaboom. I agree with rogue that religion is based upon the civilization that worships it and add that each doctrine evolves with the civilization that follows it; Perhaps we are a creation formed by the hands of a creator who at this time remains fully undefined?

And to be clear, I never said I "believed" in the big bang. Those words, like many others in this thread, were put out by someone else as if I wrote them.

I didn't mean to suggest you did, those words were mine.

The OP was targeted at a particular form of THOUGHT. I am sorry you felt left out. Find a game where you can play. Whiney little brat.

I don't know that there are any other reliable models for the origin of the universe. There have been some recent discoveries about the rate of expansion of the universe (it seems to be speeding up)which upsets a lot of models, but pretty much everyone I have ever read, including the YEC guys agree that the universe shows evidence of a "big bang." I can't imagine why you would not believe it.

Nothing in my life requires me to have an answer to the beginning of the universe. I just don't worry about it.

If I knew the answer for 100% sure, it still would not affect my life.

For something you continually profess to care so little about, you sure manage to stay engaged in the argument perpetually.

He told us exactly why. #42. He is having a hoot following his chosen nature.

Religion would have been obsolete ........If it did not exist, you would have never thought about it.

Your reasoning reminds me of Frito Pendejo (if you have seen "IDIOCRACY"). If religion did not exist, then it would be because God did not exist, so you are almost right, there. However the universality of SOME kind of religion is a testimony to God's existence. The variety of religious beliefs is -again- attributed in the bible to man's desire to satisfy the religious impulse within himself while at the same time frantically wishing to avoid the true God. It could legitimately be said that religion is not the "search" for God, but rather the avoidance of God. You don't mind if I call you Frito, do you?

I thought you had me on ignore? You miss me?
I took you and a couple of others off ignore last night because of a contest I'm hosting over in a more private section of the forum.
Suffice it to say, you have all the qualities of a winner for that contest.

OK. Some people do have an abstract interest. We call them "scientists"

I loved that movie. A comedy that is turning into a documentary.

I agree about the impulse as we've worshiped many, many different deities in our history.

Cool you guys have a secret club. Nothing weird about that I guess...

Have fun

And about 100 posts ago I suggested if someone wanted me gone, they could just pray for me to stop. That should have worked, right?

We were hoping you might display some semblance of coherence and reasonableness. Some of us (me, for example) thought you might just be one of those tards who think because you had flummoxed the double dose holy ghost church with your 3rd grade level questions and found a few stupid memes on the internet that .... just maybe... there MIGHT be more solidity and substance to Xty than the moronic mess you imply it is.

I admit I never considered I might have my tard depth meter out of whack. So why abuse a tard? I will never do so gratuitously. It is only when a tard is a troll that I just get mean.

Look, for example, at the other people whose views differ widely from mine. Look at how I have treated them in this thread. I have not been abusive, contemptuous, hostile or even arrogant (well, some things I just can't keep hidden, so we will pass on that one :) ) with them. I truly enjoy back and forth and don't even take offense at insults or edgy objections. The reason is that MOST people are not just trolls, but have the decency to say "you know, I was wrong on that."

An ability to say "many of the things I ASSUMED about Xty are wrong. I still do not believe in God and want no part of it, and have deep hostility towards your "faith" but the stuff I have spouted is not well researched and I might need to rethink some of my charges... though I have no desire to ever become a Christian."

Believe it or not, that would win you friendship, and a BIG difference in the tone of how we respond.

Yes...it's so secret that it's listed on the forum and you just have to request access. A true illuminati it is.

Illuminati. I like that.
I have no clue what the handshake is though.
