Ford is in the midst of introducing a new Ranger midsize pickup in the U.S., while VW continues to manufacture and sell its Amarok midsize pickup abroad.
The pact, part of a broader collaboration between the two automakers, applies to Ford’s next Ranger, which is slated for 2022 – but VW only will be allowed to sell its version of the pickup abroad, not in the U.S.
