Fords stops Lightning production and shipments

Other than the battery issue, how's things .. /s

With a 300 mile range (very skeptical) and a charging time 9.3hrs?!?!

Yeah, nope.

Curious if that's on a 120v 15A circuit or something bigger. Either way it's a solid no for me.

On a circuit that small it would take days.

I googled it, too much to post here. A 30A 240V adapter "is the slowest method".

How do I charge my Ford F-150 Lightning? Ford includes the 30A Mobile Power Cord with all F-150 Lightning electric trucks. That allows drivers to plug the Lightning into any regular 120V or 240V outlet. The 30A Mobile Power Cord can fully charge this EV truck, but it is the slowest charging method.

300 miles? It’s only 100 miles towing a 5000 lb trailer!
Regardless of the mfg, they have got to get way better before folks will jump on. I make day trips on the reg from Wake Forest to the coast pulling a boat. There is no way I could make it there, find a ramp that happen to have a charging station, charge all day and drive home on the same day. Also, said charging station would be underwater at the first hurricane. Nor would I be able to pull ATVs to the ATV parcel in Goldsboro, NC on a day trip.

Also, while I’m pissy about this and Ford… can they just stop reusing the names of cool vehicles for crap??? BTW, I am a Ford fanboy, four in the yard … and yes they all work! lol

Mustang Mach-E - Blasphemy!! it is Not a Mustang

Maverick - a Maverick is a CAR not a knock off ridgeline. Just stick with the Ranger!

Lightning - these were awesome looking and fast gas powered trucks. Now.. well see above… a dying POS.

...due to a potential battery issue.

Ford spokeswoman Emma Bergg declined to disclose details of the possible battery issue...

The Pinto Problem, but from the front this time!

You see, they don’t want you doing this stuff. I wish I was kidding

That 9.3 hours is prob on a level 2 charger like you would have at home to charge overnight. I saw two of these at a fast charger I was using and though my car charges faster I can promise they were not there for more than an hour.
They looked pretty sharp inside and out but it would not be my vehicle of choice to haul heavy trailers.

These trucks aren’t made for those of us who USE our trucks, they are made for hipsters who daily a truck with zero dents and/or scratches in the bed.

Ford had major issues with the Mach-e batteries as well.

Will not be long until the boats and motorcycles are mandated battery operated.

Unless you've got some ultra expensive permit issued by Uncle Sugar to run your diesel super yacht.
