Can anyone name the ammo brand from this head stamp. Picked up a few pieces today. Even a few 9mm same head stamp.

I used to get brass from a local police dept brought to me by the bucket fills. I've handled hundreds of thousands of cases. I've never seen one of those til now

Same with me on the count of handled cases. It even resized fine. Looks like a black died brass cases.

Cant figure the marking. Mid eastern? Indian/ paki? Turkey?

I seen a few rounds of that very same brass in 9mm. (if it even is brass, which I don't think it is). It was mixed in with other brass that was gathered from shooting ranges in the Charlotte area.

I don't know what it is or who manufactures it. I just throw it away.

Yep, those are browning cases. Ran into a guy shooting those at a match. He said the black coating was suppose to make the cases smoother/slicker and run better, but he couldn't tell any difference between them and any other ammo he had shot. I brought some home to reload but ended up tossing them as they are magnetic. They were fairly slick to handle and very clean for fires cases though.

I never would have guessed Browning, and maybe I just am not very imaginative, but I still have a hard time seeing the deer head!!! My guess would have been 100% middle eastern or a you said Turkey. But whatever, it kind of makes you feel better knowing that there is not some Iraqi or Iranian brass laying around on your range. I may even reconsider reloading it.

OK, now I see it. It's kind of like one of those negative space "Jesus" cut outs, you have to look at it for a while.

Maybe that is what's wrong with my shooting.

maybe this helps?

hmmmmmm. Nope! (but then I am working on "World Class" Curmudgeon status). But thanks for the effort.

I can see it, but it isn't pretty, and obviously not identifiable if we have to go to a head stamp listing and match the pictures like GRR Animals.

I bet if I signed a licensing agreement with Browning to use their logo and stamped it that poorly on something, I would be hearing from their attorneys.
