Guess I'll do this here when my stamp comes in...

I have a steel d-tube setup with stainless spacer stock and valve stem retainers I can't wait to machine...

pics to come...

They sound decent. Not as good as a commercial bought one but really good for $50 in parts.

I have meter readings from my trip to Rugged that would beg to differ... ;)

So I have a 7.5" threaded tube 1.5" OD with a threaded mount cap and dimpled endcap(to be drilled after the stamp comes in) for the body. The guts will be made up of Crane Cam valve spring retainers that I plan on turning down and drilling out some to remove some of the material, held in place with sections of SS tubing to create the chambers.

Is it a good meter, most consumer grade meters will not pick up the transient fast enough to register the complete spike. Meters that can are usually thousands of dollars. Not saying yours is not good enough but I would want to see the response time on it and the db rating on it. Side by side the one I have heard that was homemade using core plugs was definitely louder than my TiRant.

Never mind I would think rugged would have good meters. SO maybe it depends on the builder, :)

I have to assume theirs was "good". It was the same equipment they use for their videos, and Mike was the one running the equipment. I know I wouldn't spend the money on a proper one. :D

There may be a difference with subsonic ammo, but for the supersonic 6.8 and 5.56 I was shooting, my homemade freeze plug cans held their own.

Still waiting on some Form 1's to come in before I can start mine. Tick tock tick tock....

I'm going to go out on a limb a say it'll be better than my ISIS 45 can just because it's going to have similar volume, a more disruptive chamber design, and most importantly a properly sized exit hole...

I have a integral 10/22 I am working on currently. I submitted a while back and just haven't had time until now to start building it. I can do a build thread if anyone is interested.

i also have a shotgun suppressor and 50bmg that should be back in the next month or so.

I'm gonna "build" my MPX into an SBR by strapping on a collapsible stock once my permission slip gets here : )

Oh, and twist on an Octane 9HD

Why not get the SB collapsing "brace"?

I'm not familiar with the SB brace. The MPX came with SIG's folding brace but it's anything but elegant. As for braces in general - I have many SBRs so another one is no big deal. I'd like to shoot the MPX in PCC competitions and I'm not going to worry about shouldering the thing.

Looks good, thanks! Very similar to the SIG collapsible I've got. Somehow I ran into a good deal on the SIG piece and got it for $175 delivered. I'll post a pic in the NFA picture thread when the stamp comes in (next month hopefully). Not that it's unique or special but to build the library of what completed SBRs look like.
