I just submitted 2 Form 1s, a 'freebie' and a paid.

I got immediate confirmation via email for the tax paid (submitted 20 minutes After the freebie) but have not received a confirmation on the freebie. Any worries? I DID get an alert that the submission was successful when doing the freebie, but that was just on screen, not email.

Please keep us posted on how long it takes for both to be approved.
 
Strange, I got an email with the cover page and copy of the application by email in about 5 min.

Based on numbering they were processing 7 applications per minute this evening.
 
@BigWaylon ... just noticed on my freebie F1 SBR, my title is "Trustee/Settlor" rather than "Maker". Submitted as an individual.

Think it'll get kicked back? Should I withdraw and resubmit?

I would’ve thought you’d leave title blank as an individual. I’ve never seen anybody use Maker as the title, but that doesn’t mean some people don’t.

I really don’t know if they’d kick it back. I’d bet it would even depend on which examiner looked at it.

Just an unsolicited opinion, but I would withdraw and resubmit.

I left blank because I purchased my lower rather than making it. If you built off an 80% lower then I think you might be “maker.” Of course I could be wrong, and apparently the failure rate for these things is 40%.

You’re always the “maker” on a Form 1. Hence the title of the form. But you’re never the “manufacturer”.

If you build one from a non-firearm (80% lower, DIY can, AK flat, etc) you put FMI as the original manufacturer code and it puts Form 1 Registration on the form as the Manufacturer. This is how they avoid having to add every entity’s name to their system or have a Pending Research issue. (If you were paper filing, you’d put the individual/entity name in that box)
 
I'm gonna let it ride and see what happens. Worst case is I'll resubmit after it's rejected.
 
Whats the best and easiest way of submitting the "freebie" form 1's? I am a complete newb regarding NFA/ATF stuff? TIA

Silencer shop makes it pretty easy and their staff reviews your info prior to submitting to make sure you did it right.

The kiosk is nice for fingerprints as well.
 
Just did my FPs at my local kiosk, now to decide on whether to actually do this freebie..
 
Had some trouble with legal name, and other than that I was confused by the second “upload docs” screen but just decided to ignore it. For me it was far less trouble to comply than not, but lots of folks go a different direction.

This was approved with me as “settlor/trustee” even though I filed as an individual.

Just FYI.
