I managed to pickup a S&W 63 (no dashes) today in a 4" barrell. I would rate it in 90% or better shape. It does not have the box or papers. When I called Smith they said it was made in early 1981. Not sure the value of this gun.

It needs a good cleaning.

Next on the list is an early Model 60. That one has the blue box and papers. Will have to do some horse trading for that one.

Value is based on condition and accessories (box, tools) but should be in the $500 to $700, Expect to pay
the same for a model 60. Both are great purchases

ppirate, both are now in my safe. The 63 I have a hard time using the sights. Either the front sight is too big or the rear blade is too small. Can not see any light around the front sight.
The 60 is the best shooting 2" that I have. It is even better than the Colt Detective.
