I have a good sized hornets nest in a small bush/tree in my yard. any one want it ? buzzing with fun
Where are you located? I might be interested
It makes great wadding for BP smoothbores.
If it’s close to the ground just walk up to it with two cans of spray and hose it down. With both at once.
If only you were closer.
I say burn down the entire tree..... there's a thread here somewhere on how to do it.
Not worth the trouble to sell or ship...turn it into a target. One #8 shot 20 gauge oughtta do it...
I don't think #8 will carry for 100 yards.
Draco, yer like the Germans at Normandy... Damn! How did so many get through alive?
A shotgun will destroy the nest, but between every whizzing pellet will be two dozen hornets that survive, and start lookin'.
Is this still available?
Years ago I wanted to get some pics of a big hornet nest. Put a long macro lens on the Nikon, put it on a tripod and setup about 3’ away. They didn’t bother me for 2 or 3 min, bit then they decided that was enough. Funny thing is that I ran and left the camera, which they attacked in force for at least an hour. The thing was covered in hornet spit, juice, whatever.
Interested in any trades? I have a LNIB Gen 2 Glock with about 1000 or maybe 2000 rounds through it, trade value $600.
Video of the transaction so there is hysterical documentation.
You know, a twist on the CFF "pics or it didn't happen" mantra.
Haha my cousin was shooting one up in a big oak with a .22 and they started poppin him back, guess they followed the powder trail. He threw his rifle and ran like a madman. I will see if he is interested in this one if you will ship.
Does it come with a magazine?
30 rounds won't be enough.
$20 dollars says they don’t follow capacity limits.
20 yards with shotgun......light shot. Haul tail after shot. And do this at night or late evening.
Too far...shot spreafs too much. But yeah, do it in the evening.
Youd be surprised...I walk almost right up on em. 25 feet and there aint nothin left to fly at ya lol.
Never really had em bother me walkin up either...
I was thinking of the 2 handed wasp spray attack, but upon further planning the tree leaves are blocking the clear path to get the main opening on the hive, and there are many other means of egress for the devils... how about I give you each a pair of 12 inch sticks to beat it with while I film from inside the house... I hear that if you light yourself on fire they wont sting you....
Just throw some diesel on it after dark one night. No need to light it. The nest will dissolve overnight and you’ll find a pile of dead hornets the next morning.
Pictures of the nest would help???
Not in Too far. But I'm surprised this is still here
Do you need a copy of my Apiarist license and are you requiring a BoS on this?
Hornet spray at night. After dark, they all return to the nest, and are less active. Soak it down good, and get away from it. Should be dead by morning.
For yellow jackets and other ground wasps, just pour 1-2 cups of gasoline down their hole, and cover it with a cinderblock for a day. The gas fumes will get them all.
Per forum rules, please post a price or trade value.
This is the one thing we should let be an auction. Then donated to a charity. Because whomever does this would be the charity
I had a nest of yellowjackets in the ground I couldn't get rid of with gas, eventually bought some of the stuff made to kill ground nesting bees. It foams up and fills up all of the hollow spaces.
We had a hornets nest at work, our pest control guy came by and pumped the nest full of that dust that calms them down and then he soaked it down with the bee spray.
Found this while fishing this morning at dawn
Just go up to it, and tie a big trash bag around it.
And don't hit it with a water hose with a big black dog walking around.
Ask me how I know, I felt so bad for Buddy. They went to his ass like a M134 minigun .
Wish you were closer...
That was me...
done....actually drove my truck up next to it and sprayed it....the hornets never even swarmed...I did hose it over with 2 cans worth of stuff....next day....no signs of life...
You nuked their whole planet...
