So, in a nutshell I'm going fishing/camping in the smack dab middle of nowhere in a lake 90 miles from civilization. I have lures, but I'm more of a cork and bobber kind of guy. Given the circumstances of weight, air travel, and packing logistics, I can't carry true LIVE bait, and wondered if using freeze dried crickets, or something of the like would be a suitable option. What would you guys reccomend?

I’ve never had luck with the freeze dried crickets. If I were traveling I would dig some worms or catch bait at the destination. A place that remote is bound to have some logs you can flip for earth worms to use.

That may be the way to go, just trying to maximize time fishing vs catching bait. Walmart sells some sort of sealed bags of baitfish. I may take some of those along for the trip.

Make sure you are allowed to take bait if you plan on crossing international boundaries. Some countries might not want you to cross their borders with it.
