These were some Midway “seconds” bullets that I had ordered a while back and I wanted to experiment to see if sorting bullets would help improve accuracy. They shot well enough for a plinking load but I was plagued with a fair number of flyers.
That number is the bullet base-to-tip length in inches. The lot of 950 bullets (already shot 50 bullets) ranged from .955” .970” long and had the following distribution. You can see most of them fell in the .965-.967 range, which I'll use to load & test my next batches.
I'll probably use the rest of the bullets to just shoot steel with.

Now if I really want to nerd-out, I'll sort the .966 batch using a comparator and see if I can further subdivide by base-to-ogive!
