Wifey picked all the rest of green tomatoes off the vines and since I haven't had fried green tomatoes in years and years decided to try my hand at it.
Took some flour and corn meal, added some spices like cayenne and some beer to make a beer batter. Fried up the green tomato slices and I thought they came out good but the grandkids ages 17-13-12 were not impressed. Since I also like fried pickles in restaurant's, decided to use up the batter. Restaurant's Ive been to used sliced dill but I used the long sliced dill instead. They came out great and the kids scarfed them down as soon as they cooled enough.. They looked like short corn dogs and it look like I have a keeper here.

My oldest boy loves fried pickles. We didn't have enough dill slices on hand one weekend and fried bread and butter slices instead. They were a hit as well.
