Yeah. Those are flattened.

Did the pocket open up too?

Shooting reloads from a friend of a friend? It looks as if that is not a good idea in this case. I am not sure it is ever a good idea. Do you have the loading data? Those do look to be a little too frisky.

Maybe I could have been more helpful.

I don't like to shoot others reloads and don't give mine away for others to shoot. You never know what you're putting in your hands.

I once found some 38 specials after my uncle passed away. They were in a plastic case and my conclusion was they were handloads. I'm glad I shot them through a 357 magnum, they felt like 38/44 loads. Suckers were smokin hot.

I'm the same way. I saw an overload crack the cylinder on a 357 Blackhawk owned by a friend. He'd bought the reloads from someone he worked with. I broke several down, and found a double charge of Titegroup in 2 of them.

Do you have the loads a friend got from a friend and are you shooting them in your firearm or does the friend have those rounds as well as some of your reloads that he is shooting in his firearms? I hope you did not sell your reloads to a friend.

I am not trying to be difficult, but we generally try on this forum to help people keep out of trouble with dangerous equipment and with the law. Using the reloads from other people can be dangerous, and selling people your reloads can get you in rather significant trouble unless you have jumped through a lot of hoops to get all the proper documentation.

Im with Indie on this, Ive been reloading for many years and the only loads I trust are mine. Seen too many failures over the years for me to take a chance on either, my firearm or my own health.

I'm going to try and get my hands on a few of them. I can probably figure out the powder type. I've asked for my buddy to get me the load data from the guy. He was shooting them out of a Kahr PM9. I shot a few out of my Taurus without issue. His were tumbling out of his 3" barrel looked like.

Here is one scenario I observed years ago after a semi pro IPSC match which I competed in. After the match, one competitor offered a mag full of 38 Super ( thats when the caliber was new) to another to try. I was standing right along side the shooter, and the third shot was very loud and the shooter dropped his 1911. The grips had been blown outwards and after disassembly, we found out that the round in the chamber, case failed and blew gasses into the magazine which ignited the rounds still in the magazine.
Not only can we have bad reloading technique, we also have to watch how many times the brass has been reused.
I still have a comped 38 Super barrel for my 45,that i just bought back then and was going to convert to,till I saw that..
