It's possible it may be illegal to sell. I'd do some real research before you do anything else.

If your selling publicly, the water cops want you to obtain a permit to do so.

Not something I would personally care much about and not sure if they get bent out of shape about it or not. Just posting for info. No clue what something like that would be worth or what type of demand there would be for it.

I don't have an answer, but I would love to see a picture of it.

This one belongs to a friend.

If you sell it online, DO NOT SHIP IT TO CALIFORNIA... It's illegal to sell taxidermy animals to anyone in CA.

I used to live in San Diego and I was an active member of the big gun forum, CalGuns...

That forum has several threads about undercover CA Wildlife State LEO going on websites from all over the country, buying taxidermy animals, and having them shipped to CA. Then they create a warrant for the seller's arrest. Then they try to get them arrested and extridited to CA to face trial and prison time.

Rules vary greatly from state to state. Mix in waterfowl and the FEDS get involved.
I have found that you never get anywhere near what it cost you to have the piece mounted.
I have numerous mounts in my home but purchased many of them at flea markets, gun shows and estate sales.
Good luck moving it. Hopefully it can get to someone that appreciates the beauty of the piece.

I would look into companies like Cabelas and etc., they get theirs from somewhere.

@Redbag5

This makes me curious if there's a chance the person that did the work, is still alive (or at least a family member keeping the business going), and would he be interested in buying it and adding it to a display, assuming he's big enough to have a gallery in his shop, or place of business.
