Any recommendations on a gunsmith in Fayetteville to shave the posts off of G43X MOS. I would try, but I don’t have a vise or file to do it myself. Any recommendations as would be appreciated!

Doesn’t the MOS function with adapter plates? If so, wouldn’t it be easier to purchase a different plate? I’m assuming this is to convert a Shield RMS mount to a Holosun K mount, right?

Correct. I am currently using the plate but I want to remove it to have the optic sit a bit lower. I'd like to get to use lower sights with the dot. Not the end of the world, but i think it'd be nice.

So what’s the plan, shaving off the plate locator studs on the slide and trying to find an optic that mounts to the MOS screw holes in the slide?

That’s not going to work. The Holosun SCS is the only “direct mount” optic for the MOS pattern, but that’s not for the slimline slides, just the standard width Glock pistols.

If you found an optic that happened to fit the MOS plate mounting holes in the slide, mounting it without bosses or fencing is asking for trouble.

Studs (recoil bosses) and tight pocket fit (fencing, not found on the stock MOS system but available with aftermarket plates) support the system so the optic mounting screws don’t take the load of shear stress. Forcing small machine screws to take the recoil forces unsupported is begging to have an optic that can’t maintain zero (at best) or flies off one shot and hits your face (at worst).

Your best bets are (1) finding someone that makes slimmer aftermarket plates; (2) selling the MOS and buying a standard slide 43X to have it direct milled for your optic, with proper studs and pocket fit; or (3) not worrying about the optic height and just living with slighty higher cowitness sights.

I am not talking about any of the other Full Sized Glock MOS System, only on the slimline 43X/48 MOS. The slimline 43X MOS is optic cut for an RMSc not the Holosun footprint. There are 2 extra posts that do not allow any Holosun optic (EPS Carry, 407K, etc.) to sit flush on the slide. The 2 extra posts in the back need to be filed off for a more flush fitting optic. I currently have Suppressor Height sights that take up a good portion of the optic window and would like to be able to remove the adapter plate and get regular sights that will co witness with the notch on the EPS Carry. Oh, I finally see what you’re talking about. Brainfart on my part with the slimline MOS. It’s native Shield, not native plate. I’m an idiot.

I think The Rock Guns is the closest shop to your area that does cuts.

As you noted, you could do that job at home with a small padded bench vise and a sharp flat file. Probably cheaper to just buy the tools! You could be done and mounting your EPS in a half hour.

Appreciate it! It really bugs me that glock went with this mounting system instead of Holosun. Really limited what can be used.
