Game of Thrones

I read the books. The show is pretty good until it gets past the books, then it really seems to struggle. I enjoyed the books, but some of the changes they made for the show improved the story.

I thought the books were excellent and I am a tough sell. I read a lot (!) and I do not suffer bad writing of any kind. GRRM looks to be a real tool, but I give his writing credit. For books where I've "seen them" first, the book HAS to be substantially better for me to rate it highly. His are, IMO.

There's also a lot of GoT YouTube channels that really bring a lot of info together with the show, books, interviews, etc. GRRM does a crazy amount of including small details throughout the books that foreshadow big moments later. Bridge4 is my favorite. Some of the things are a stretch but the stuff he connects to make the prediction are not.

I watch a few of those channels.
They are intense and they read a BUNCH into the patterns and history and interviews and fan letters and all sorts of stuff like that.

It's wild and out there and tinfoil, but it sure looks like fun.

Meh... Not much of an episode. Some touching moments and a bunch of tension leading up to nothing... Wonder how many episodes they will stretch the battle into?

Great episode, having everyone there and living the journey that led them all to be there....

Next week... get ready... that is when the SHTF...

I guess... I just really want them to get to it... Only 6 episodes left I believe and there's a lot of stuff to wrap up...

I've read all the books in the series. Some of them were great, IMO, and some of them seemed that the author was struggling to fulfill his contract obligations with his publisher. He's been promising the final book in the series for about 10 years now.

I don't understand the surprise with Daenarys. the mad queen narrative has been there the entire show.

And Happy Mother's Day, Cersei. I wanted something like what happened to Ramsey or even her son Joffrey but it is fitting being Mother's Day.

Bets on Arya taking out Dany?

My wife swears that Arya is done killing, that she and Gendry end up married with him somehow on the Iron Throne

Good episode... Finally has some big shoes to fill...

I bet John Snow turns her dragon on her or something...

Yeah since the first episode Amy has said that John will be forced to kill her and some of the foreshadowing points to that. The talks about John not forgetting who his family is by Arya being the most obvious.

Well he's a Targarian so she can't burn him... I'm betting, the dragon turns on her or he walks through the flames and stabs her...

Dany sits on a charred throne surrounded by rubble from her terrorist attacks while the streets fill with Dothraki (anyone else get flashbacks to 9/11 when there were scenes of nothing but rubble and victims fleeing and covered in ash?), who impose Sharia law on those who didn't manage to flee.

Survivors retreat to the north, in winter, with meager supplies and wondering why in the name of all that's holy they invited these savages into their country in the first place and realizing they are defenseless against this army who see them all as infidels.

That's not you + I am not a Lady.... = no Gendry marriage.

Not all Targs are fire proof. After the last dragons died pre-Dany, tons of Targaryans tried to do what Dany did to hatch new ones. They failed. Also, remember her brother was not fire proof.
