Gander Mountain closed and opened back up as Gander Outdoors. The one in Myrtle Beach hasn't reopened yet but I was in Charleston today and stopped in the Gander Outdoors there. The first thing that I noticed was that the place wasn't as crowded with merchandise. Plenty of room to walk around.

I went straight to the back where the guns and ammo were. They had some pretty good prices on ammo and had a good selection. They had Freedom Munitions ammo and had 50 rounds of 9mm for $9.02/50 rounds. I'm not really familiar with retail prices on new guns but prices still looked lower than Gander Mountain.

I can say that I popped into the WS location a bit back and saw my newest gun, the SP5k, for hundreds lower than even our own Jerek told me...and they had it in stock (Jerek couldnt get one in).
I dont know other firearms prices, so I cant comment on all, but I got a dang steal. Hell, some folks online called me a liar when I said my price was under 1800 (under 1900 OTD).

I've been to the one in Fayetteville. Has a lot of stuff and prices for some of the hunting gear was low enough to get my attention. I think they price match guns up to a certain radius around the store as well.

Mooresville one opened yesterday. I happened to walk in there. They didn't have prices on half the guns and were pulling them out of boxes! They have a club thing where you pay a fee and get discounts.

They had a sig p320 x5 in there.

PSA rules the roost in Charley Town. They'll have to get close to their prices or it'll be Katy barred the door. The one here in Murder Beach will only be up against The DICK and Bass Whore Shop. Nobody to hold their feet to the fire. They'll have to make some changes or do as last time......run Forrest run.

I went in the one in Greensboro today looking for some fishing gear. I felt the prices on what I saw were very similar to the old Gander Mountain (in the fishing/boat areas at least) It also felt very empty and open.

This is no bueno. The old stores sale prices were other stores regular prices. I was hoping they’d be different when they re-opened

The membership thing - its, I think, 27 bucks for a membership and it got me 90 off of my gun purchase.

I'll go back to Gander, like I said, I got a sick deal there.

The prices at the Winston store are better than the previous iteration. I've yet to buy anything other than a drink there.

Prices on ammo and guns at the Monroe location are very good, even comparable to some online stores. I hope they can stay open. The store did look empty compared to what it was when it was Gander Mtn.

Gastonia store is looking good and some of the prices are beating walmart prices.

They're gonna be class 3 dealers too.

So I went today. I was pleasantly surprised. Not at all what I expected. Most ammo prices weren’t bad. Kayak stuff wasn’t that far fetched on price. Nor was fishing accessories. Bought a few lures , some rod covers, and a new Lowrance fish finder that was cheaper than I could’ve gotten on Amazon

I did notice that they had Aero stripped lowers for sale. I never noticed the price because I had just come from PSA where they had stripped lowers for $39.99. Yeah, I got one.

They had bunches of .22 LR in many different varieties and for good prices. Now, is the time to stock up on .22 LR, especially if you were one of the ones that ran out during the last "shortage".

I liked gander. I thought a lot of the prices weren’t bad. I once walked into bass pro and saw the g19 I had just bought for $100 over retail.
I’m amazed they actually sell guns but when your known to everyone I guess it’s easy.

The one up here had Anderson lowers also for $49, aero’s for $64 I think and aero AR-10 lowers for like $130 or something like that

I stopped in this morning out of curiosity from this thread. Was suprised to see ar lowers, lower parts kit, upper and lowers, and complete lowers. Had a few Kriss firearms and a few different caliber ar pistols.

Needed a few more 1911 choices for me, would like to see a few more options in 9mm

I just left the Greensboro store. I think they’ve made some good changes. Prices were much better than the old. Fully stocked in firearms. Ammo was priced very fairly.

The new Marine section is excellent for boaters. Finally have a good electrical section. Fishing section is still being stocked.

They almost always have promotional coupons and fliers, for anyone making a big purchase. They also price match anyone within 50 miles I think.

Popped into the Monroe location today at lunch. Looks pretty well like the old GM 'firearms superstore' did right before they went belly up, except for the pricetags.

And they had quite a bit of Aero Precision items all over the store which pleasantly surprised me. Complete uppers for sale. Entire magpul section. Lots of goodies. I like it.

dunno, I saw about what BassPro and Academy sells. Ruger, Sig, Kimber 1911s. I did notice a Remington 1911 R1 for sub $600 I thought that was a deal. Full case of Ruger and Smith wheelguns.
Sig P320c for $550 makes me appreciate my tabletop guy.

Went to the Mooresville location today. To look at a safe. Very nice compared to the old place. Staff acted like they cared! I bought some Aguilla .22 that I have never seen on a big box retail store shelf. Colibri, Supermaximum and Interceptor. They also had some fancy CCI.

At the gun counter there was a kid there that had some product knowledge. I got to talking and I mentioned that I wasn't going to be buying any pistols in the near future unless it was a full size. He was showing me the Beretta M9A3 when I spied a Pico. The kid had it in my hand a minute later. I nearly bought a gun! I checked pricing and they are below by a tad than everywhere I checked so far on that model. Beretta Pico $265. Still thinking and studying a bit though but I'm leaning towards it. Mrs. had me join the Good Sam thingy, she liked the store, soo... anyone want to buy a slightly used LCP II that has a brand new barrel courtesy of Ruger? It still jams, just a little less if you use 100 grain ammo like they did for the 24 test fires they say they did and called it good.

Anyway, since it's getting too tiresome to keep track of who else to hate on because of their business practices concerning firearms, I am willing to give them a chance. They freshened up the place, there was staff that was willing to be helpful and I wasn't offended by the pricing.
