I can run a bunch of things for a long time off of my EV but if he thinks I’m getting rid of my Generator in case of emergencies he is even more out of his mind then we already think. 2 is 1 and 1 is none.

Sounds like they are talking about a cutoff once CO levels get high. This is already being implemented by many, and it ain’t the end of the world.

If anyone remembers the water heater fiasco from ~13 years ago, they're at it again with that.
They upped the energy standards to "save consumers energy costs". It amounted to pennies a year for the average consumer but increased the cost of a water heater by hundreds.
So, they're doing it again. I think I remember reading new standards in place by '29. But this time, even the best manufacturers are saying it can't be done.
Electric water heaters will have to use heat pump technology and gas heaters will have to be condensing and something like 99% efficient

They have been trying to shut down the coal plants for years. And with modern scrubbers I am not sure how truly dirty they are. I guess there is coal ash. That used to be an issue, but they probably have a way to handle that now. It certainly would seem to be an easier thing to deal with than the components of EV batteries and solar panels. That crap is a problem with no current answer.
