Gel Pads For Howard Leight Ear Procection

Price has really come down on gel ear cups. I think I paid $36 for another brand a couple years ago on Amazon. There was maybe two brands available then for HL

Got those on the nightstand earpro. It's right next to the nightstand pistol.

I use the same for my Walker’s. Your post actually reminded me to order another pair for the second set I own. Much improved over stock, and they don’t seem to take a “set” like the regular foam does over time.

Same here. They were pricey not too long ago.

Great addition to your ear pro. A several months out of the year, I wear ear pro for 6-8 hours a day at work. These are a great investment! I highly recommend them to everyone.

I have these and they are much better pads, but I just can’t make myself like the HLs. I always have a headache after wearing them and I feel like the electronic cutoff comes in way late. The first shot of a string always seems to be dangerously loud.

What ear pro do you use? I’m always looking out for something better.

Anybody ever tried the ProHear (company that makes the pads Geezer linked) muffs that come with gel pads already installed?

The headsets have vinyl ear pads, they dry out and are stiff, the gel pads stay soft and are made of polyurathane that stays soft to hold the gel.
I have a set of these, four years old and still like new. They have a relief cut so your eyeglasses do not break the noise seal.

I ordered a couple sets this morning.

If you’re not sure if you like HL Sports, be sure to try HL Pros. Not much more expensive and MUCH higher NRR (noise reduction rating). They are great for pistol but too wide for a cheek weld with long guns.

My gel pads were delivered earlier this morning. I snapped the old ones off and snapped the new ones on. They were very easy to change out.

I tried them on and noticed an immediate improvement in fit and comfort. It seems to be money well spent. I'll give them a real world test in a day or two. I had been using ear plugs in addition to the muffs. I may be able to eliminate the plugs now.
