Randomly watch these two videos on the youtube, no idea how accurately they portray "homesteading" ideas or methods. Always something the wife and I wanted to try. However, I have a sneaky suspicion it would be much tougher than we think! ;)

    What do y'all think?

It is a massive amount of work, it’s never ending, and there are times that you want to give up. It is a true lifestyle and will take over your private and social life. We are going to move into phase two of our homesteading this fall.
Yes we live and work on a farm but we also homestead; we are growing a good bit of our own food, and are moving to supplement income from some of our extra produce

Those folks in the videos have a lot of help taking care of those farms.

And yet wage slavery is a massive amount of work but mostly someone else benefits in the form of taxes and other deductions from YOUR labor.

If I had it to do I'd start off with land and then move into becoming self sufficient. I'd bite off stuff I knew I could chew without working 24/7. I just wish I would have had the means to do it when I was young enough.
