Ok a little explanation may be needed. A good friend of mine and a prior Marine 0331(Machine Gunner) coined the term for our passion "Turd Polishing". Glen and I met 18yrs ago at Lejeune, I was his Plt Corpsman and we became friends over our love of guns. Turd polishing is taking broke, cheap, and ugly guns and making them ours. Glen is far superior to me at this, but I do enjoy it and this is my latest turd.

So I got this Turkish M9 copy expecting nothing... Well maybe Chinese quality:rolleyes:, but nothing special. I know I know Zenith Factory is rated for Turk Milspec arms ..... Well Turkish QC is not my QC! So I knew I was going to have to polish some If I got this Turd.

Well I got the turd after reading some good articles from Spoter Up and some other trusted sites. At the first trigger pull I knew I had to do some polishing. Strait to Midway and Beretta sites for some parts and even eBay and I now have a shooter!!

So it began... Short reach trigger. Wilson Combat Spring Kit, Vertec hammer.... But it was lacking...... Flash... Fixed with a awesome set of eBay Grips:D

Now slap on a light and we almost have a banger:)

There we go, this turd is polished, but then I shot it some on the deck range.... Damn it.. I forgot the reason I have sold my last 3 M9's I owned.... I cannot manipulate the safety fast, or even with some resemblance of skill....

Well Today I have finished polishing this turd and added my "G" Beretta decocker only safety! So this spring I have a new Turd in my holster until it gets pocket pistol season!

You ended up with a nice turd. I, too, enjoy getting an inexpensive gun and finding out that it's a good shooting firearm. The Turks are cloning some pretty nice guns.

The Turks, i dont dont like that bunch either. They're all srilankans to me. :eek::D
 
I was considering one of them since I no longer have a 92 at home but tons of magazines, holsters and parts. Not all parts are interchangeable with the Beretta.

Barrel and barrel link are the only ones I have found to not be. I have changed just about everything else on mine.
 
Do you happen to have a before and after picture of the short reach trigger installed with the hammer down? With the required length of pull in DA, I just wonder how much difference it can possibly make.

No I don't, I don't think it made too much on the visual, but made allot of difference on feel.
