Purchased twin Bergara B14 HMRs in .308 as well as .22lr. In the market for quality scopes for both. I purchased identical Nightforce 20 MOA picatinny bases for each. Was looking at the Sig Tango4 6-24x50 FFP for the .22. Doesn't appear to have much windage adjustment. Not really sure what to do here. Goal is to have 1000yd glass for the .308 and would like to stretch the .22 as far as i can with match ammo. Definately want FFP and 50mm objective. Probably 30mm tubes unless I can find something larger for a reasonable price. I'm left handed and noticed a couple models out there have the windage and side focused swapped around for us southpaws. Would like to have similar optics on both since I really will be using the .22 as a "trainer".

Budget..... Don't really have one but definitely looking for the best "bang for the buck" pairing on each rifle. Let's say $500ish on the .22 and $800ish on the .308.

I run SWFA 10x42 scopes on my CTR and 457. They aren’t perfect, but they are reliable and will get you out just about as far as your guns can handle. I’d bet you could get 2 for around $400 come Black Friday from SWFA.com.

I've heard good things about Arken scopes but haven't messed with one personally.

I have 3 SWFA's and they do well for what they are.

Athlon Ares BTR Gen2 4.5-27x50 for the .308. It’s $869 at EuroOptic new

They have an Athlon Helos BTR Gen2 6-24x56 in their sale category for $499 (normally $630) for your .22

So I really like Athlon scopes, since that's what Ryan at Apex Defense Group likes and I believe him. I got their top of the line Athlon Cronus 4.5-29 for my 308win precision rifle and *love it*. Admittedly it's in Limbo right now due to funds, but my plan is to get the Athlon ETR 4.5-27 for my Ruger Precision Rimfire 22lr trainer. So that's $1550 for the Cronus and like $800 for the ETR. Given your budget, I'd say the ETR or BTR 4.5-27 for your centerfire and the Helos or Talos high-magnification scopes for your rimfire would be a great combination to achieve the same effect without blowing such a huge cash wad.

Of course, as always, if you can save up for an extra couple weeks and get the higher price tier scope, I would always say that's worth doing for this purpose. The great thing about Athlon is their price tier lines are all great, but consistently incrementally better. :)

Or what the above folks said. Always take a chance at a great deal when one shows up. :D

Since we’re on Athlon scopes, take a look at the Midas Tac for rimfire. It can be found for around $500-600. It’s not illuminated but is superb in clarity and tracking. I also have an Ares gen2 that was a few hundred dollars more, and I think my Midas Tac is a little more clear.

Right now Midway is giving $200 gift certificates with purchase of Athlon Midas Tac scopes. If you get 2, that’s $400 in Midway monies😎

Guess all comes down to what you looking to spend but for the money the hawke scopes are really great optics for the price.

I was once told by a USMC Scout/Sniper instructor, "When you buy a scope, use every bit of the money you have - and borrow some more - to get it."

I’d 2nd the swfa's fixed power on the .22
And a 3-15 on the .308
After posting this, I looked to see what the 3-15 was going for and they’re on sale
I just paid $462.40 shipped.. hard to beat .. I think I sold a used one for that a couple years ago.. and regretted it.. new one on the way.
