Glock 19 upgrades- What have you done?

Most would consider my "upgrade" a step backward. I installed a NY-2 heavy trigger. Why? Just prefer a heavy trigget pull. Normally a DAO revolver guy. Put a NY-1 trigger in the Model 26 too.

Bought a Vickers's G19. Money ahead of throwing money at it myself....Always.

one has aac threaded barrel and glock night sights

one has kkm barrel and comp, rmr 06, trijicon white front black rear suppressor sights, tungsten rsa with 15# spring and x300u. Overwatch TAC trigger, rocket connector arrived and are awaiting install. Going to see how I like a heavy trigger spring too.

Yep. going up home to look over Dads early Gen 2 19, 2 Pin. Its still pristine. He's finally carrying it daily now. I believe we bought it for him away back in 91 or 93. Anyway, hes coming up on 78 years old now and a touch of parkinsons. He tried out my 21 with factory extended slide release and the lone wolf extended take down tab and loved it. So, I ordered those parts for his 19 and gonna surprise him by installing them Thursday. At the same time, I plan to put a scope on the carry handle of his early Viet Nam slick side AR15/M16....he's been threatening to hunt with it for a year now but really prefers scopes now and always decides not to take his black rifle out at the last minute....."I might need the first and last 10 minutes the scope gives me" he says!!!!!

I think the Gen2 19 is the best one they ever made. Mostly it seems after that, they experimented around, had a lot of misses and never had the nuts to just go back to the one that was "right" to begin with.

I picked up a Gen 2 19 not too long ago with a NY spring and a - connector. Wow. That's what a carry gun should be. Feels great in the hand, no rail in the front for your tacticool bayonet, and that spring and connector combo gives it a wonderful yet very safe pull.

I've always found the lighter connector to be mushy. I like the one that comes in it.

A Glock is a tool you train to use properly.

No need for anything but to get rid of the plastic sights.

Upgrades to my G19....

Gave it to my wife.
Got me a G29. Because 10mm, that's why.

I agree with you with the exception of Lone Wolf connectors. To me they don't make the trigger feel mushy like the other brands, and I'm sure I've probably tried every dang one of them!

That may very well be.
For a carry gun, I am happy the way it comes.

Not a gamer or paper ripper.

I think I like the stock trigger break. Have felt the mush a lot on custom triggers and don't care for it. @Studentofthegun uses stock ones and inspired me to leave mine alone. Glad I did. Wish I could have the exact same feel but lose 1.5-2lbs in weight though.

This thread has inspired me to clean my Glock 19 today. Only cleaned it once when I got it, lol.

I always swap out sights to nights sites and add a ext slide stop lever and a butt plug. And if it has a serrated trigger i swap out for a smooth one there also.

Vickers extended slide release
Vickers extended mag release
3.5 Ghost Inc. Trigger connector. thats it

Trijicon HD sights and Suarez Combat Magazine Guide. I like the magazine guide because it gives me a better grip. Its a very shallow mag well, does help somewhat with reloading but not significantly.

I upgraded my Glock 19 to a 23 and bought 9mm and 357 sig conversion barrels. So, I have 3 calibers in one gun with a barrel change and mags for the 9mm. I like it a lot!! It also has trijicon night sights on it.

What have I done? Tried to wear it out. So far, I'm a failure.

I've only ever done 2 upgrades to my 4 Glocks.

I did this to my Glock 34

The only other upgrade I do to Glocks is to buy/reload ammo & shoot.

I spent all day Saturday with a fellow recently retired from the Army. When his groups opened up for unknown reasons on his G17 he sent it back to Glock see what was wrong with the gun.

Turns out the barrel was shot out, and the frame had stress fractures.

Round count? Over 150,000.
They sent him a new G17.
