Looks like a black 19X with front serrations and the ability to use any G17 mag base. Oh, and the same old plastic sights.

WOW!!! A new Glock. Let's see..it's square, it's black, it works.....move on, nothing here to see....

...and there will be NO confusion amongst the people...

"Dude, I just got a new GLOCK 45 and it shoots 9mm!"

"AWESOME...only GLOCK can make a 45 that shoots 9mm! I have to get one of those!"

Meh...I have a g19x, and I’d prefer to have the g45 because it’s black. But I’m not running out to sell my g19x. Now, if the rumors of a gen 5 MOS g19 with front serrations and no mag cutout are true, yeah...I’ll need one or 2 of those...

I kind of like this and may pick one up to give it a shot. Blue label dealer I go to already has them in stock at the normal price of $398.

And a 22 that shoots .40 and a 40 that shoots 10.

Personally, I don't care much for the 19X or 45, but I'm glad to see Glock making money (further fueling my G19 addiction).

If they get rid of the half moon cut on the non MOS 19 and 17 I may get a Gen 5 at that point. Not convinced I need MOS or Glock 45 yet.

I can say with 100% certainty that it’s true. The Gen 5 MOS has front serrations and no cutout. It also has a smooth trigger which I don’t recall on my early Gen 5 19 but maybe that’s not new?

I got my first gen 5 g19 pretty close to them being released. They’ve all got the smooth trigger, a great upgrade imho over the ridged gen 3 and 4 standard triggers. My gen 4 g19s (2 MOS’s) got those ridged ones swapped out ASAP for a g17 trigger smooth shoes.

I don't get the 19X/45 concept. If it's a duty gun, why give up the extra sight radius? A 26 frame with a 19 length side would certainly pique my interest, though.

That’s what I was trying to remember. I bought the first one I found but it was one that had issues with 147gr ammo so it got sold pretty quickly. I agree, the smooth trigger is definitely an upgrade.

I’m not really a fan but it does have a few benefits. The shorter slide is faster out of the holster (arguable as to whether that matters for the average person) and it works better in uniform from what I understand. And then you get increased capacity over the 19 and a longer grip for those with large hands. One of my buddy’s has one and I appreciated it a lot more after shooting it. It’s really well balanced (honestly I’ve never noticed my other guns NOT being balanced though).

I love my G19x, i have a light on it and shoot it so well, I wanted another 19x to leave at home and one to carry but didnt want to pay the extra cost over a 19. Wonder what the price on this will be. I do wish my X had the front serrations.

The thing that bugs me about the g45 is the fact that its mags with the new lip are not compatible with the g19x. That’s the only instance I can think of where 9mm Glock mags, regardless of generation, aren’t 100% compatible up/down the 9mm double stack lineup. That bugs me and may hinder me from getting a g45 at some point, since I have a 19x I plan on keeping. I now though have to start saving for another MOS model though...

Longer guns hang/push up on the ballistic vests more than shorter ones, especially getting in and out of and sitting in cars. I can't see the half inch between a 17 slide and a 19 slide making a world of difference. This was more relevant back in the day when going from a revolver/1911/large frame Smith/Beretta to a Glock 19 and when level IIIA armor was more bulky.

If you dremel that lip off the front of the grip of the 19x, it becomes 100% compatible. I am not sure of the purpose/value of that lip.

You dont have to remove the lip completely. A guy on glock talk used a grinding wheel and removed a little bit from the inside and the gen 5 baseplates fit fine and the lip remains.

Reminds me of the full size XD frames with shortened slides. Yuck. 19 frame with 17 slide would have been more interesting, for me at least.

I'm really getting behind. I've just recently started warming up to the Gen 3. Gen 4 and 5 don't interest me much.

My boss's are all up for the G45, me its just another Glock meh and I'm a Glock Armorer working on them daily. Got a Gen 3 G19 at home and a Gen 3 G17 RTF on hip right now.

I like my gen 5 19 fit a little better, for my hand. No finger groves, and a bit slimmer than the gen 2. Trigger out the box is a bit smoother. Splitting hairs.

Other than those personal preferences, no big advantages between gen, 2,3,4,5 imo.

Imma Gen 1 kinda guy. All here are as close to that Gen as possible, with whatever outside "mortifications" it takes.

All parts will interchange with Gen 1, 2, and 3. That stops with Gen 4 and 5.
Yeah makes sense to stick with them if you have a ton of stuff for them. Part availability is an advantage to Gen 1-3, I forgot about that.

My buddy just got one today. It is his first gun and he lives in NY so this is no small accomplishment. Took him about two years to get through all the background BS. I think he could have done much worse for a first gun.

Jesus. Now I feel bad for being annoyed waiting 5mins for the salesperson to get to me. Hope he likes it, seems like a great first pistol.

I heard their next gun is going to be a Glock 45 with longer slide and barrel for increased sight radius and bullet velocity. It's going to be a hit!

Glock hit Perfection(TM) with the compact (19, 23, 32, 38) form factor. Anything else is just a cash grab.

There is rumored another Glock in the development stages ... a “stretched” G36. Basically a G36 stretched to basically a Commander sized single stack .45 with 4” barrel and grip to accept an 8 round mag capacity ... and those 8 round mags will be backwardly compatible with the G36. That is the one that should have been the G45 ... a single stack Commander sized Glock in .45acp.

Put 400 rounds through it today and was really impressed with it. This is hands down the best shooting Glock I’ve ever fired and it’s very easy to shoot quickly with. I shot it next to my 17 and 19 and the 45 is just easier to shoot than both of them. I am a big fan and I think is my favorite Glock I’ve ever owned so far.
