Glock Gen 6?

Single recoil spring on a plastic guide rod? Everything old is new again.

Wonder what the advantage is to the new barrel setup? Narrower slide?

I hate the beaver tail. Also, why even bother with a rotating barrel? I guess I don't care what Glock does as long as they continue to produce Gen 3s.

Two other guns have that set up. The Beretta PX Storm and the Stoeger Cougar(Stoeger bought the tooling for the Cougar from Beretta). I have the Cougar. The plastic guide rod will break (mine did) under all that energy and torque of the rotating barrel. Stoeger replaced it with a steel guide rod.

As far as the rotating barrel reducing recoil as advertised, I experienced more recoil. But in 9mm, you want a little more action, so I like it. (On a similar note, do you get bored shooting .22 out of a 5.5" M III gun?).

It's my understanding this pistol is intended to compete in a forthcoming German Police service pistol trial. It will be interesting to see what the specs of the solicitation are and who enters the trial and what (if any other) new designs will be introduced.

The last time the Germans did this was after the 1972 Olympics massacre. That trail gave the German Police three excellent pistols the Walther P5, the Sig P6/P225 and the HK PSP/P7.

This might prove to be interesting...certainly worth watching.
