Been drooling over these since they were introduced a couple months ago. Saw one at a small gun shop near my house a few weeks, and passed on it....and kicked myself for it. Went back today, and they still had it...and now it's mine! :D

I wish Glock would have made it a real P80/gen 1 G17, with NFML mags, black internal parts, etc. It's basically nothing more than a Gen 3 with a gen 1 texture frame...but it scratches the itch at a more reasonable price than a real gen 1.

Just handled one at Sportsman's Warehouse in Greensboro during lunch. Fortunately their computers where down so they weren't able to sell any guns at the time. Made resisting the temptation a little easier.

Just put 50 rounds through it. First time I've shot a "gen 1" Glock.

First, I'll say that I bought the P80 as a collectors piece (nevermind it won't likely ever be worth any real money). It'll get shot, but unlikely it'll ever get carried. I bought it primarily to be a range toy. Much the same reason I bought a 19x.

That out of the way, I absolutely see why the Gen 2 was made. The grip texture on this gun is awful. Even with dry hands, it slips around.

The mag release is a chore as well, that's one thing it took them a few gens to get 'right'.

I've still got a Gen 3 19 in my collection, so I haven't forgot about that...though that gun rarely gets shot anymore. The gen 4/5 was a needed improvement on that.

Oddly the poly80 kits with their 'enhanced' gen3 style release are pretty good, at least from a gaming perspective. No idea how it would be to carry with that release poking out so far.

If you really hate it, i have a lightly used gen 5- 19 in the box with everything it came with and front ameriglo night sight with rear blacked out(hackathorne i believe), no grip cutout, front slide serrations i might be willing to trade ya

Hahah. No chance. The grip texture is pretty much what I expected it to be.

I've got several other Glocks for serious use.

Until the political climate changes, for the most part my safe is a black hole. It'll swallow everything I shove in it, but it won't come back out. :D

Its all about what you train with.
All my Glocks are gen 3.

Bet all mine kill just as good as ya’lls, maybe better. 🙀

Im pretty positive yours kills better than mine...I just hate those damn finger grooves

Holster for it came in today. From little I can find, the original austrian military holster when they first adopted the P80 was identical to this one...except the belt attachment was different.

I'm surprised Glock still makes this holster. I can't imagine it being popular at all these days...

It’s still popular in Austria and Europe
