Got a Gen 5 G17 and tried the Glock factory performance trigger [GSSF legal.]
Pretty good compared to other upgrades I've done; not equal to the unlimited race gun upgrades you can do but for $99 its not bad [LGS even had in stock.]

For fun I compared what it came with to a Ghost 3.5# connector - the connector swap is a bit more complicated as the trigger bar and spring have been redesigned on the upgraded trigger and needs some fiddling to reinstall. But you can get an honest 3.5# pull [it is factory rated for 4# with various OEM connector +/- adjustments.]

Gonna set this back up for GSSF competition and do the same on a Gen 5 34 MOS.

I am a fan of the Gen5 guns with the GPT. I plan to get a couple more and sell off my gen 3 &4 guns.

I haven't tried one yet as I don't have any Gen 5 Glocks, but it's in stock at Primary Arms for $79.99.

I experimented with this a bit today using a Glock 19 Gen 3, Gen 4 and Gen 5. You CAN install the GPT in gen 3 and gen 4 guns. No permanent mods to the frame or slide are required. But there's a few things...

1) you have to install a gen 5 slide cover plate.
2) gen 3 and gen 4 firing pin safeties are more square and make an odd hitch at the beginning of trigger take-up. This could be tuned away with some targeted filing, but I'm just playing around here...
3) you have to trim the GPT housing to fit it into a gen 3 frame. It dropped right into a gen 4 with no issue.

Good to know. At that point just better off going aftermarket route I'd think

Gonna try my G44, I’ll get a cover plate.

Gen 5 cover plate came today - I didnt see any obvious difference vs the OEM G44 but could be minor geometry changes.

In any case as Catfish says the performance trigger dropped right in the 'gen 4' G44 frame and made a huge improvement vs the OEM even with a Ghost connector. For some reason the G44 just has a worse factory trigger than CF guns - for one it has no trigger helper spring in the back; maybe thats part of it?

Nice upgrade and still GSSF stock legal!

Many thanks for the tips. Will test fire next week to make sure of course.

I don't own a G44 but here's the difference I see in G19s:

Gen 5 on the left, gen 3/4 on the right

you shooting that at Blufield tomorrow?

$98 tax and shipping. $12 too much to ship a trigger IMO.

Craig's in Harrisburg by the speedway charges $80 when he has them in stock

Bad news - I just saw this in the GSSF rulebook:

40.30 Allowable Modifications to “Stock”
...
8. Installation of the GLOCK Performance Trigger in the G19 Gen5/MOS, G17 Gen5/MOS, G19X, G26 Gen5, G34 Gen5/MOS, G45/MOS, and G47 MOS only

So it looks like shoehorning these things into other models won't make them GSSF legal.

Hmmm. Will just pop it back into the 34 then.
Maybe they amend this in the future. All other parts are legal as long as Glock manufactured regardless of if ever issued in a given model.
Nice option for the 44 in any case outside GSSF.

GPT rimfire UPDATE:

I was having issues with the GPT in G44 when mags were loaded full 10 rounds; wouldn't go into battery and /or bullet nose jamming against feed ramp when slide was 'slingshotted' forward from lockback on first round.

Had tested 100% firing with 5-6 rounds; was suspecting ammo until of course I realized that the GPT ejector isn't sized for the rimfire and the bottom front of ejector tip was depressing the rim of top cartridge in the mag. With 5 rounds the spring pressure was low enuf to overcome but with a full mag the spring force was too much to overcome.

Easy swap of ejectors, feeds fine now.
