Went out to RCWA the other night for some trap shooting, that wind got brutal at times. At least to me.
When it's in the 40s or so, do any of you use gloves when shooting?
What are you using?
Im not thinking something thick, but didnt know if the thin gloves would do any good while still giving me movement in my fingers

Mechanix gloves work best in my experience. Been using them on multiple deployments and shooting on the range for years.

Ok, i'll try them out next time Im at the range on a colder day, thanks

For colder weather I like Hatch Specialists. They’re neoprene backs with genuine imitation leather palms for good grip and feel. These are not heavy cold weather gloves for 8 hours in freezing weather but do nicely for range time. I can run anything semiauto handguns to loading semiauto shotguns and ARs are a breeze ... I can even use speed loaders in wheel guns.

Another vote for mechanix wear. Check out the 0.5mm high dexterity gloves.

I cut the fingers out of my Mechanix gloves. I prefer to a better feel than just the glove.

Like the nomex flight gloves?

I use these (finally wore out my last issued pair and a pair of thin mechanix gloves that have a suede leather palm I found somewhere. Helps with suppressors that aren’t red hot or anything but hot enough to hurt bare skin.

For brief stints, I always just go bare. If I was in the field for an extended period, I'd go Mechanix over the recommendation of others. Never tried them personally.

I use mechanix gloves when hunting or on the range in the cold.

My dad has been a private pilot (small planes, no real heat) for 50+ years. I stumbled across something I didn’t even know existed a couple years ago and bought them for a Christmas gift. Magpul Core Flight Gloves:

He’s not a gun guy so he knew nothing about Magpul. But I just checked with him and he still wears them every time he goes up and it’s cold.

I don’t know if they’d work for shooting, but might be worth looking into for some of you.

Have an assortment but never use most including the no feel mechanix gloves. The best glove I have found is lower cost actual leather golf gloves. Must have great feel for golf and they are skin tight like a condom.

Foot Joy rain gloves. I use gloves when I shoot for several reasons. First and foremost, the perspiration from my hands is the finest quality blue remover known to man. If I touch your gun it will be rusted within 6 hours exactly where I touched it unless you carefully wipe that area with a treated cloth.

Secondly, better feel on the gun and third, to keep my hands warm in the cooler months. You can buy "shotgunner" gloves for 20.00 and they'll last maybe 3 to 4 months but the FJ rain gloves (also 20.00) will last for a year or more and fit better while doing it....

Mechanix or a good pair of motocross/bmx gloves here. With the MX I avoid the sets with thick padding on the palms and silicone grippers on the first two fingers. You may appreciate both of those features.

I never even tried his on. If you do get some, let us know how they work out for shooting.

The fact they work with touchscreens is a pretty cool bonus.

If you get a set of those Oakley Tactical Gloves with the knuckle beaters, and act like a house clearin' operator, cuttin the fangers outta them, you too can shoot your partner :)
