A Ruger p89 that I lent to my wife's uncle in AZ back in 2002. I moved and he died and it has sat in an AZ storage locker for quite a while now. Figured it was worth the shipping and transfer fees to get the old nail back.

I got it the day before the Brady nonsense took effect. While not a great piece of firearms history it does go bang each and every time, mildly accurate, stainless steel and it has lots of cheap 15 rnd mags.

I got back from picking it up, shot a couple of mags and was like, mehh,, put it in the safe where it will likely sit for another extended period of time. Plenty of other more better, less embarrassing stuff I would rather carry and shoot

Not worth selling but I own it, again..

My first was a Bauer .25acp...long gone-
My first as a true adult (>30) I traded to my BIL, then traded back for it.
Now my oldest son owns it, right where it belongs...

nice!

I can't see getting rid of my first pistol. early USP9 1995 production year.

That the killer for me. 97'ish USPc 40 replaced the P89, carried it every day for 13 years.. Started hating on the .40 and got the 1911 disease.. Traded it off for a stainless 70 series Colt something or another 1911 and hated it. The P30 is ok but even my kids miss the USPc..

P series pistol are great. My bedside for I can't so long I can't remember is a P85,,, I put its dependability up thier with a AK. It so dependable I believe I could put "snap caps" in it and it would fire them

First pistol was a Jennings 9, predecessor to the hi-point. It never failed me but the safety was a joke and it was a brick. I dumped that years ago and don't miss it.

My next "first" pistol I carried was a Keltec pf9. Don't miss that either.

Then a Kimber... Don't miss that

And an old taurus 40 cal Beretta clone. I do miss that one a little.

My first pistol was a P series as well. P95 DC. I really didn't know what I was buying, it just fell in my price range (my whole pay check that week) I gave it to my Dad after I started developing my collection. That gun is a beast. Long story short, I know for a fact being run over several times will not affect its functioning...

I've had most all of the P series Rugers at some time or another. I never loved the heavy bricks but they always went "bang" when the trigger was pulled.
My first handgun was a Ruger, a GP100
purchased in 1988 for about half of the best retail now. It and the black and gold box live in my safe to this day!

I bought a G20 in 1992, I often wonder where it is now, would love to have it back.

All this P series talk makes me miss my P90 even more. Maybe time to look for another. Glad you got your pistol back!

I did some repairs to my bosses P89 a few years ago, it is a nice shooter, maybe not the best looking gun but dang it fires everytime and accurate. Glad you got yours back Johnny. I don't have the first pistol I ever bought but I do have the first I ever shot, some 45 years ago. Not worth much but special to me. Savage .32 Auto 1907 I think the model was. Serial number has it made in 1913 and it still shoots fine or it did the last I shot it several years ago. I can't replace any parts any more for it so mainly just look at it.

Had a Taurus 22 revolver. Trigger pull was so bad in double action that you were lucky to hit a man sized target. Glad to be rid of it.

Next was a Glock 19 that I carried for 10 years before I started branching out. Still have it, it has a soft place in my heart. Can't see myself getting rid of it. I consider it my first "real" gun.

The P-series (with the exception of the 85?) weren't light, compact carry guns, nor were they match guns....... But they ran without issue.

My first pistol, use it every range visit, P89 15 round pre ban 1995, shoots any and all 9mm ammo you feed it.

Nice! Glad you got it back. My first pistol was a West German P226 that was stolen 15 years ago. Would love to have that back!

My first pistol was a Sig P239 in 40. It doesn't get much range time but still love that gun..
